Talk about NBA 2K16 here.

dont use cheat engine anymore on pc if u want to play single player even.i just got banned from playing my career for cheating in single player.what i dont understand with the fools working on 2k is why they dont just implement server checks like proper developers would do if the cheating is so bad online.i have no idea how many people cheats online cos i never play online.so i really dont understand their logic.banning someone from cheating in single player is pathetic and most probably not even legal
Wed Oct 21, 2015 11:00 am
I'm thinking because it's cheating???
Wed Oct 21, 2015 11:21 am
what i do with my single player game is my own damn business.they can ban me from all online play they want i dont care but single player is just plain out stupid and lazy.to implement a proper anti cheat online isent hard to add server checks anyone can do it if they want the cheating to stop online i dont care.but when they ban me from the normal singel player game yea i get pissed off by their lazy coding to just use a dumb method that hurts my single player game

So you say that you've been playing only mycareer with the game disconnected from the internet?
Otherwise you were playing online. And breached ToS.

as i said what i do in single player is none of their business and i do what i want with my single player experience.there is a reason why no other game developer does this

It's not true. You're actively changing memory of the game while you're in an online mode. Only way you're truly playing "single-player" is when you block the game's access to the Internet.
The reason is simple: You still earn VC and the same "single-player" character is actually used across the modes, particularly MyPark and Pro-Am.

Try playing CS:GO on some server with bots and cheat. Hey it's basically a singleplayer... Let's see how that will work for you.

you're angry at "those fools at 2k" because they banned you for cheating? Wow.

2K on cheaters be like

That JaoSming gif is amazing.
I seriously have no sympathy for anyone who gets banned for cheating the system. In fact, it gives me a great sense of schadenfreude knowing that it's happening now.

im happy to see you all think the developer should be able to control everything in single player for you as that is destroying your online games.dident know people where so willing to have a game developer take control over everything they do in single player.guess dictatorship is the way the world works now
Thu Oct 22, 2015 3:11 am
Your intention to play online is irrelevant; if you're earning VC in an untoward fashion, 2K has every right to cut you off. I guess every form of government in the world is a dictatorship by those standards.

This makes me happy in more than one way

I actually agree with OP on this one. And I'm a huge proponent for cracking down on online hackers and cheaters. 2k should just implement Punkbuster or an online anti-cheat system and be done with it. What people do with their copy of the game should be irrelevant to them. (But it's not, because of this micro-pay VC nonsense. They only care because it hurts their pocketbook.)
The golden years of my gaming were played using trainers to play games like Grand Theft Auto and Far Cry. Imagine game companies taking that pleasure away. Heck, they may take away your ability to mod 2k. After all, they still claim it's their property under their usage rights after you bought the game from them.

I mentioned this in another post but will repeat it here:
2k should NOT ban cheaters from MyPark outright. What would be justice would be to put a lifetime HARD CAP on their MyPlayer of 80. (Let's see them take half-court 3's then). I cannot imagine sweeter justice than for us non-cheaters to beat them down and dance in their faces every day.
After all, we don't want them to be banned outright and empty out the parks. (I'd say about 40% of these people are hackers) On the PC version, Old Town and Rough Riders is already empty practically.

you really like to give them props for banning someone using a cheat in single player that doesn't affect you or anyone else for that matter? i really don't understand you at all.you like to be striped of your choices in single player and be told how to play the game by the devs because that's how they designed it and you better play as they intended or you are going to get a ban.

i wouldn't mind however they do manage online bans give them ip bans everything hardware ban them so they wont cheat again.but you really don't need to piss on people that cheat in single player.i dont even have 1 game on pro am or my park or whatever they are called

I was banned as well. I have no intentions of playing online anyway so it's not a super huge deal but a bit of a disappointment considering I can't get roster updates. It's generally a good thing to crackdown on these sorts of things but I feel like I've been cheated a bit considering I paid full price for the game and now I'll be playing it offline basically. It is in the ToS though, so I can't complain too much. Overall, good to see them doing something about the online exploits. Still left with a bad taste in my mouth but I'll get over it.

well you should feel cheated.they took away half the fun with my career with offline mode.you cant even use my career fully in offline mode so im about to get my refund for the game sooner or later or they will unban my career mode and make the bans properly or my money its really up to them.incompetent developers to say the least

Not really. t-workTV took it like a grownup and admitted his mistakes. You on the other hand still cry about it like an 8 year old. What's next? You're going to say you fucked their moms or something?

Seriously, just ban them from MyPark and online games. I don't care what they do on their own computers in single-player. I haven't used the cheat cause I never had the need (plenty of earned VC 6 months from now), but I personally might want to max out a 99 player for single player near the end of 2k16's useful life (sometime around June).
It must be the Libertarian/Republican in me, but I don't like the idea of game companies enforcing how their game is played in single-player mode. Fairness online? Absolutely. On your own computer playing in your mom's basement? Go nuts.

you seem like a grown up.butt hurt 2k supporter no matter what.you should read the thread maybe before you make retarded comments.i even stated that they should ban everyone who goes to play the online mode but i guess your stupidity to read missed that

If it was the Libertarian in you, you would say that as a company, it's their right to do whatever they want with their own game. You're actually arguing for more regulations, which is the opposite of the libertarian philosophy.
Me personally, I say they should be banned only because they're hacking for VC, which takes money out of the pocket of the creators of the game. If it was truly just for single player, just disconnect from steam and play offline. The fact that you're playing online is fishy.

could it be because they take away features in offline mode maybe? no customization to my player at all.if all features of the single player was actually in the game in offline mode i wouldn't care what so ever about my ban.but as it limits me from playing my career for no reason more then them making money even tho i don't pay for vc and never will.i paid for the game once and not going to waste my money on over priced vc in a single player my career ever

If you don't like it, don't buy it. That simple. You can't buy the game and then retroactively decide later that you're going to hack for the VC. You deserved the ban.

Not exactly. Because I am acknowledging the freedom and right of the company to maximize their profit by banning online players. But to the extent where it starts hurting the individual and end-user, I would rather they not limit what we do. (The Harm Principle: Be free to do whatever you want to the extent that you do not harm others.) Sure, sure, you could argue that we have the liberty to protest by NOT buying the game, but we're all fans of 2k and that's not realistic (seeing as how EA sucks)

This, too is untrue. I've had bad server connections before and single player is downright unplayable without that online connection. You can't upgrade, your VC goes down to 0. None of your settings are saved. I don't think you can even choose NBA animations.
