Disabling system audio makes HUGE difference in fps

I saw this in the steam forums and tried it. My game went from REALLY BAD slo-motion unusable to basically normal and playable. I can FINALLY at least play some quick games!
Maybe others already knew this, but this was new to me (it doesn't make sense (to me) that disabling audio improves video performance so much).
