When i first heard 2K say that they're putting Pro-Am in the game i was actually happy because i was thinking im gonna be going against players like Chris Paul,Harden and ect. When they showed it was your squad vs another squad which made it sound like crew (which it basically is but under another name). I had to read up on it and i found out you need a license to get NBA players for Pro-Am. I saw Live has the license and should have the name but for 2K what was the point of them having the name Pro-Am

If nothing else, Pro-Am is too generic a term to trademark. In that respect, perhaps both companies should've gone with something more unique, though it's also obviously a recognisable term. Do you have a source for EA having the license to use NBA players in Pro-Am, and 2K not being allowed to? My understanding is that it would be covered by the NBA licensing rights both companies already have, the only possible hiccup being the prospect of doing something the NBA doesn't like.
