MyLeague player contracts/team options

Mon Nov 02, 2015 8:22 am

I know there are tunes in place to improve the well-documented issue with players signing for much too small contracts. That being said, I've noticed another issue that may or may not be fixed by them: Image

That screenshot says just about all there is to say. Yes, the final option of his rookie contract was declined, making him a UFA. This is incredibly frequent with the result of way too many young players who would be on their rookie contracts becoming UFAs. As you can see from the screenshot, other youngish players on team friendly contracts are having their team options declined as well.

The reason why this is happening I believe is directly tied to the small contracts. The CPU sees a guy rated at 82 and feels they don't deserve to be making 12m per. Seeing as other players who are 82 are making 8 million per.

When that tuning fix comes out that brings the worth closer to how good a player is I think that option problem will be solved with it. Just conjecture of course.

I figured the same, just wanted to make absolutely sure. I would hate for the next patch to come and find out only half of the problem was solved.

Luckily Leftos said it's being looked into, so I feel very confident we'll be good to go in the next patch. I can't wait to finally start a serious MyLeague :D
