Subpar performance? Please post your DxDiag.

Sat Oct 10, 2015 4:34 am

It would help if you included your basic system specs in the post and then attach your DxDiag, but merely attaching your DxDiag should suffice. Please be specific about which parts of the game seem to have subpar performance, and if you're noticing steadily sub-60FPS framerate or if you have steady 60FPS but are experiencing stuttering.

Only post your impressions if you've played the game after getting yesterday's Hotfix 2.

Posted this in the hotfix thread, copying over here (with dxdiag) for continuity's sake...

i5-4210u
gt 840m
8 gb RAM
Acer Aspire V3-572G-54S6

New notes: Turning up shader quality especially seems to really tank performance, where in 2k15 I always had that maxed no matter what. Also, playing anything in the Gatorade gym (or an individual freestyle in a regular arena) allows a significant uptick in performance. Feels like a different game in these areas.

I really haven't seen any performance improvements with the hotfixes thus far, and still have a significantly worse experience than 2k15...judging from the Steam forums, this seems relatively common among those with mobile gpus. I need to run the game on completely minimum settings to get a constant 60 fps, and even then I sometimes have to deal with framerate drops around the basket/baseline. For comparison, I could run 2k15 with all settings except one on "high" (at 720p/900p, with special effects and AA off of course), though the framerate drops around the basket/baseline were present then as well (though could at least be eliminated by putting settings low enough).

Thanks for your continued hard work.

As for me, i can't get my framerates to go past 15fps ,player movement is laggy ,quite smooth as the point guard is bringing up the ball but after that, its chaos,a little bit of stuttering too. Thanks for the support though ,commendable job from the 2k community.

Just so everyone knows, I was told that Full Screen performance should now be at par if not better than Full Screen Windowed. Is that what you're seeing as well, or is Full Screen Windowed still performing better for you?

Keep the feedback coming!

^^Could you please explain the difference?

So the gameplay is smooth with some forced settings in the Nvidia control panel. The stuttering still occurs though at the beginning of the game, no matter the presentation template, during in between quarters highlights, and also during some of the timeouts.

Inside the zip there is my dxdiag file and a video setting I am not using anymore.

Maybe this isn't the right place to ask, but are you guys getting your fps numbers?

To clarify this with some more specific examples:

In addition to my general "much worse performance than 2k15", there are a few areas where I am unable to maintain 60 fps despite playing on minimum settings at 720p (and meeting the minimum requirements of the game for sure).

[*] 2k camera- Around the basket/inbounding the ball. Especially when being pressed and needing to inbound under my own basket late in the game, there is serious stuttering and lag.
[*] Broadcast camera- Shooting free throws. Luckily I play with Real FG %, or this would be unplayable.
[*] Broadcast camera- Rebounds. Nearly every time the ball is in the air and players are attempting to rebound, the frame rate drops.

Edit: To clarify even more, certain arenas seem to cause extra problems. For sure the Staples Center (Clippers) causes the above issues leading to decreased framerate and choppy gameplay.
