Talk about NBA 2K16 here.

NBA 2K should bring back the courts and the lighting of 2k14. And i wish that modders here in our forum will able to modify the NBA 2K16 files. Because the court reflection and the lighting of 2K16 are waaaaaaaayy to flat!

Any thoughts?? Do i make sense?

Not surprising. The graphics will decrease from year to year, as it was in the past generation of consoles, order to on a new generation (PS5/XboxTwo) was "wow" effect in the graphic component...

That's not at all a graphical decrease. It's just a small change of a texture. The shininess of the floor doesn't effect frame rate at all. It's just supposed to be more realistic. The floors in 2K14 were way too shiny.

Yeah I'd say we as players tend to like shiny stuff but it doesn't necessarily mean it's more realistic.
You can't really make out full reflections on real courts, especially on the light hardwood.

Dark hardwood or painted areas should however be more reflective.
If graphics "decrease" in one area it's usually to accommodate for something new, because devs do hit consoles' limits. That said, XOne will get some extra free CPU power and PS4 might too if they adopt Vulkan.

Yeah, i think 2k16 it´s more realistic, but AGAIN, 2k, what the problem with REAL COLORS? Look Lakers yellow.... =( =(
2k yellow it´s like EGGY... Lakers yellow it´s more GOLD.... 2k make wrong colors for the last 10 ou 12 years... GEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ

Wait, are we already bashing the NEXT generation for not making enough of a graphical jump?

The lighting in the first shot looks more flat to me when you consider the entire scene.
But then I get that unrealistic vibe from most of the SweetFX REALISTIC LIGHTING bullhonkey. There's actually a great talk by John Carmack on how "more lighting and reflection" isn't necessarily more realistic looking and that sometimes using a single moderate source produces a better effect than using ten brighter ones. Because in real life there's actually basically an infinite number of reflections happening at all times.

I think 2K has to use "official" colors given by the league. They just look "wrong" in game because of various factors.

Mainly because most people do not use fully calibrated IPS displays.
