Control buttons change

Postby cricnewbye on Sun Oct 11, 2015 11:51 pm

I admit that though I quiet like this game and overall the NBA2k series, but I find it annoying that they change controls from one year to the next. I mean I play EA NHL as my main sport game and they kept most of controls the same year after year, in that case the criticism it's somehow lack of innovation but overall you can just rely on some familiar routine during Faceoffs, Hits etc.
I appreciate if NBA 2K introduced for example the spectacular right stick kind of pass in 2k14, cos it was something new, let's say an innovation. But why changing controls who are already known/present in previous editions? If Y is to post up and trigger + Y it's lob pass, why they change it to Y being now lob pass.... I mean that's confusing, I'd prefer to see a control change only for real new controls, and not changing the one we were already used to....

I can see why the changes were made, but I'd generally agree with you. Changing up the controls every year, or every couple of years, is an annoyance.

I would have to agree it's a little tough to get used to the new controls every year until your muscle memory has the time to adjust. But with that being said, I love the new pass button(s) scheme this year. I hope they keep it for next year.

I'm still getting used to it myself, and I feel the "best pass" logic could be tightened up a little, as well as the logic on right stick passing. But I get the general philosophy, and while I'll still probably feel it's overkill until I get the hang of it, it's something I'm approaching with an open mind.

Yeah, IMO, it's not overkill at all, having gotten used to it. It's really good, actually.
