You can be yourself...as long as you're exactly like the character that's been written, in the storyline Spike Lee has come up with, and you relate 100% to both.
OK, OK, I complain about that too much. I know. But it does kind of remind me of the intro to MyCAREER in NBA 2K14: "No one's gonna tell my story but me"...on this linear path that I don't have a whole lot of control over. It does sound like we might have some more branching options this year though, so we'll see. I feel that in this case, "Be Yourself" and the tagline of "Be The Story" might be promising too much, given that the cinematic elements do require a certain amount of characteristics to be ingrained, through the events that unfold and the dialogue that has been written.
Having said all that, I'll keep an open mind, check it out, and temper my expectations so that hopefully, I'm pleasantly surprised. And if it's not for me, so be it. It will appeal to other people, and there's other stuff in the game that I am definitely interested in.
