Controller Not Working for Online Play FIX by jmmontoro

I wrote this on the Steam forums, it's not a fix but a workaround, requires a second and trusty game pad. http://steamcommunity.com/app/282350/di ... 885227260/

This is what I do and it works fine, don't get me wrong, there is a bug with this and it's top priority that it gets fixed.

So online games disables your game pad, we all know that, but I have two game pads plugged in so the first time I found my controller wasn't working I jumped for the other one and that one was working fine. So the bug moves your primary controller to your secondary, if you don't have a second game pad plugged in it will fall on the keyboard, if you only have a keyboard it will fall on an alternative keyboard profile.

The very successful workaround is to have a second game pad and switch to it for online, it hasn't failed me yet.

I know most of you probably don't have a second game pad just lying around and working fine, but it has worked flawlessly for me and I thought it could help a few of you.

Sorry for little offtopic, but speaking of two pads.. I have two X360 controllers. I play the game against dad and he doesn't use pro stick, but I do. We've used B button for shot/steal for years.. He is used to dunk with X button, so I set X button on "up" right stick of pad. I can't use one direction of pro stick obviously. To make this all work, I have to always set different controller settings. I haven't been able to have two pad profiles as I could in previous 2k's (JaoSming's advice). For dad I have to set pro stick on shots/isomotion and orientation on absolute.. I use default settings. Really stinks to change it all the time.

So I ask: is it possible to have two same gamepads recognized as different ones? That would allow me to use all directions of pro stick, because I would be able to set up controls for keyboard, X360 pad MINE and X360 pad dad's. Also I would love to be able to have specific settings for EACH gamepad.

Cheers guys.

Enjoy the game!!

The only way I've ever been able to use two controllers on the same pc and have different configurations on each, was to use two different types of controllers. If they are both xbox controllers, for example, then the configuration you set up will be universal for all xbox sticks. But, if you use a ps, and an xbox controller (at least the last time I tried in 2k13 on pc) you could map them differently.

It's one of those things... settings, controller configurations, and playbooks, etc should all be saved to individual User Profiles. Then, you would just be able to assign the user profile to a controller... That's the way I remember sports games from back in the day. It is a much more common sense approach, imo.

Have you tried navigating to the settings with the controller you want to change, edit the settings and then try remapping some button and undo it so it prompts to save?

Yes but it doesn't work, it's back to default when I restart the game.
