Installing 2k15 mods? Is explorer the best way? Not legit copy.

I have a version of nba 2k15 off piratebay which I have gone 60 games into MyGM with. Before you bash me and say "buy the damn game" just know I have bought every single 2k since it came out. Because of some tough family situations I havent been able to buy it. When I get the cash I will buy it.

Now I really want to install mods onto it but I have no idea how to do this and from research it seems 2k15 explorer is the best way. Yet when I load up 2k15 explorer i cannot load archives. Does this only work with a legitimate copy of 2k? Is there any other way I can install mods?
