Talk about NBA 2K15 here.

I don't think I've played a game in myCareer where the opposing team has ever shot below 65% FG. I can lock down my guy on D, but the CPU is hitting like 90% of the jumpshots it takes. I normally would tone down the sliders but there's no option for that in myCareer. It's not just the guy I'm defending, but the entire other team doesn't miss.

i think that might just be you i play on the suns and we arent a great defensive team but usually we can hold the other team to somewhere between 45-50% and i suck at playing defense against my man.

Yep. I drop 40 every game but then the opposing PG has 35! I cannot play defense. Only way you can prevent a blow by is to give him space and when you give him space, every jumpshot is good. Don't know what to do other than cheese and turn on defensive assist in the settings. Right now, I have the default - 0 defensive assist, 100 auto challenge on jumpshots.

Does the shuffling left and right work? How about the beat player to spot? I feel the defender moves way too slow for it to be effective at tweaking your defensive position. I'm only using the left stick to play D. And the right stick to put my hands up, along with the intense D modifier (left trigger).

I agree about the CPU in mycareer, this is the most frustrated I have ever been while playing a game.
The Average PG/SG's with their mid range Ray Allen Jumper with a hand in their face, make 90% of the shots.
PF/C's with Jordan's fadeaway jumper that goes in almost everytime.
Lastly just about every contact shot goes in, and if it doesn't? They get the rebound.
It also don't help much when your teammates can't hit a simple wide open layup/jumper.
The CPU basically does this for 85% of the game.
Score with 5 secs left on shot clock.
Get FT's with 5 secs left on shot clock.
Miss with 5 secs left on shot clock, get offensive rebound and score.
The other 15%? Missed shots, fluke turnovers, and blocks.

I don't know, maybe I just play differently, but I just play what I think is good basketball, follow points of emphasis and follow coach's directives and I don't have these problems.
At SF position I'm now mano a mano with KD going for scoring title, averaging 10 rebounds per game (so I basically average a double-double) and 4 assists. I usualy have 1 or 2 blocks and sometimes a steal from guarding the passing lanes. 3 turnovers per game.
Both my team (heat) and opponents shoot around 50% per game. Sure some players hit one or two shots when well contested, but not 90% of them. In my game if someone scores they usually got open or they're too skilled.

While I got to admit, I remade mycareer, and still am in my rookie season with about 9 games left on the Orlando Magic... Maybe things will get easier next season.

To be fair, it's not just the AI that doesn't miss. I'm hitting shots that I have no business hitting. I mean, I'm a 67 rated rookie PG and none of my shoot ratings are above 71. How am I hitting 3's and 2's like nobody's business? I'm averaging 40 ppg, 6 assists, 7 rebs shooting 60% for Pete's sake! Even Durant sucked his first year with the Sonics. (I know, I had him on my fantasy team.)

Playing on Pro. Probably totally different story if I upped it to All Star or Hall of Famer.

what difficulty are you playing on? i noticed at the higher difficulties this year theres more cheese then ever before. I play rookie on sim and i like the way it feels you miss contested shots and so do your teammates and they usually hit open shots, just wish there was a better D, its a bit too easy to score and get scored on i dont want the team to average 120+ pts/game. but we still lose to good teams like the thunder (im on the suns as a starting PG).

Opposing point guards just hit contested pull-up mid range jumpers all game and there's nothing anybody can do about it unless it gets blocked. This doesn't change from Hall of Fame to Superstar to All-Star. Haven't tried pro difficulty but I imagine that I'd score 80ppg if I did that.

And the forays to the front end of the hoop are utterly ridiculous. Finger roll after finger roll, you bring over a big to protect the paint, and they lay it up right over them. They never miss.

In MyPark, there's almost no way to stop someone. You can't play tight cause the guy will blow past you. You have to give him at least 5 feet of space. And then it's over cause he drives, you back up, he pulls up and shoots, and you can't get anywhere close to the shot in time.
I think defense is really tough this year and is much more a team effort than an individual battle. You really need to play tight, and then switch immediately to a teammate to cover for you when he drives by you.

That's because defense is definitely broken in 2k15. I mentioned some points about it in the rules thread. I play both 2k15 and 2k14 simultaneously for the past week. 2k15 games are higher scoring games (the CPU scores more on me, and I also score more against the CPU).
2k15 is just not as realistic as 2k14 was. I'm talking about 2k14 the modded PC version, I don't know about the console version.

i play on all star 12 minutes quarter and custom sims slider. I only lower the sliders for contact shot success and lay up success in my career and im on the suns. Most games are between 90-105 and 45-50% shooting for both teams.

By the way, I picked up the volume shooter badge and upgraded it to gold. BIG MISTAKE. Now I'm missing almost everything that I used to hit. WTF? Does that badge force you to chuck shots or penalize you for not chucking shots? My FG % used to be 60% and now it's 40%.

Well you shouldnt shoot every time.

The CPU has a huge advantage slider wise especially on HOF... I understand they want the game to be hard, but instead it just causes pure frustration. I feel like I'm getting cheated instead of beat most of the time. Watch how fast the center moves when their PG loses the ball...?

Shit, I'd be amazed if any player was able to get there that fast

This has been the case for years now. Most of the top Slider sets in the past few years have used Pro as a base, with some going All-Star. It is generally well accepted that on HoF, the ratings are too dramatically slanted, and it becomes unrealistically cheesy.
In my playing, I find that in 2K15, as per usual, Pro is the Difficulty I find most appealing. Now it's just a matter of tweaking the sliders appropriately to make it actually difficult, instead of cheesy.

Which slider do you use? Default or Simulation?

Recently I've been tweaking them to try and find a more Arcade-feel, so I don't even remember at this point. I want to say I was using Simulation, at the time, though?

Dmayne,
Hilarious. Center made a beeline for the loose ball. Wow. I knew HOF had the cards stacked against you, but didn't realize it was like this.
