Bullshit, no one will ever get banned for playing with a VPN LOL.

It's against SSA to use tools (including VPN) to mask your country of origin - so in theory it may get you banned in the unlikely situation when someone at Steam had a bad day and you maybe popped up.

In reality: I don't think anything will happen unless you try to BUY games using a VPN.

using a VPN to activate an already bought Game is unlikley to be a problem

but i wouldnt advise buying a game Via VPN.. that could very well be spotted

They only go after people who buy games from different regions at a cheaper price using a VPN, not for early unlockers.

Correct, Steam does not bann unless they lose Money. They only bann people who buy from the RU-Store and then sell the Games in mass for example. The 3 day later release is only because of the retailcopies and it makes no sense online. 2K is really bad when it comes to worldwide releases at the same time. Their new Civilization has weirdly a worldwide release, probably because its PC-only.
But my goddamn Retailcopy does not even come tomorrow, so I don't even can use a VPN to unlock it. At least I found a way to preload it already, without having it on Steam.

2K is really bad when it comes to worldwide releases at the same time. Their new Civilization has weirdly a worldwide release, probably because its PC-only.

Found this in a discussion on Steam, thought I'd share with you guys so you can at least know why it is this way.

P.S. Personally I like the fact that it's released on a friday, as I am for instance usually busy during weekdays, so as the article says getting the game after a long week is like a reward which makes it more enjoyable in the end. And of course the release on Friday allows me to actually have a productive week, with enough sleep
