2K just posted this video on Facebook. It features freelance AI logic and how it was changed. Video made by Da Czar.

If this works as advertised, and there are enough options, it could mean a TREMENDOUS uptick in general fun and playability. It's been a complaint since basically the beginning of time that "all teams play the same". It's a breath of fresh air to see that this is being addressed not just through playbooks, but in default 'play style' or freelance, or whatever they're calling it. I'd love there to be 20+ options. Would be fantastic. (Y)

I have faith in Czar, this looks awesome. He did say somewhere that not everything works like it should 100% of the time, but it still looks like a monumental improvement.

The most impressive thing on this video is the A.I. when on offense, It looks like a massive improvement. I can't stop watching the last two minutes of this vid. Good job VC & Da_Czar. :bowdown2:

Looks fantastic. The comparison with NBA 2K14 really highlights how far they've come with it this year, Da_Czar's direct involvement with the game now that he's a developer is clearly already paying dividends. Awesome. (Y)

Something else I noticed: on one of those offensive rebounds, Duncan actually made the pass back to Leonard, setting things up again so that they could take a bit of extra time and freelance. That's something we've rarely seen the AI do in previous games; usually, the ball is going straight back up after an offensive board. Duncan did do that on another play, but he was closer to the basket and in good position to immediately go for the second attempt himself. Given that the AI can be a bit cheesy when it crashes the offensive glass, that's another welcome improvement, and certainly realistic if a player really isn't in position to get a quality shot after getting the offensive rebound.

If it plays as good as this video makes it look, this could be what people talk about the most after the release. I think this years edition looks like it has the potential to be groundbreaking. Can't wait. (Y)

Replicating the Spurs offense is something we've been asking for from a playbook standpoint. Implementing the actual system into their freelance is even better. Good job, 2KSports. Can't wait.

Didn't bother with 2K14 but is this true?
If it is, regression from 2K13. :|

Remember that used to happen years ago as well. You do one thing slightly different and the play is broken. Don't hit the marker in time, play is broken.

WHAT?! I don't think so. The reflections aren't like that in 2k14, which is great. It actually looks nice, tbh.

I like how people can see an awesome gameplay improvement, and their first thought is that a floor isn't perfect. :facepalm2:

Yes but not so with 2K13 in my experience.
I could pass the ball to different players and the marker still stays visible for a good amount of time. I could be at the opposite baseline and take my sweet time crossing to the far side wing just to be in the proper position where the marker is located so the play can continue.

Yeah, 2k14 NG looked like you were playing on ice rinks in some arenas lol. Let alone if you play using the 2k cam(Portland looked like glass in the direct line of the sun)

This looks nice, but I hope that the AI won't play "freelance" 80% of the game. That was one of my peeves with 2k14.

I also noticed that the AI does not take advantage of mismatches. For instance at the end of the video (Spurs vs Mavs) Nowitzki changes during a screen twice and he ends up guarding Parker in one instance and Green in the other. The AI should take note of that and either play an iso game with the guard being marked by the tall defender or try to feed the center who is guarded by the guard.

As far as courts are concerned, they do look like crap. There's almost no reflection at all, and the little reflection that there is looks more like a shadow than a reflection.

EDIT: Regarding reflections...

Look at how real reflections look in the atlanta hawks court:

Now compare this to the footage from the hawks court in the video.
