Those graphics are going to be sick.

In all seriousness, are we going to get any news about NBA 2K for the PC anytime soon? At the very least sometime in July?

Actually a lot of fun, back in the day.

So far we know which platforms it will be released on, who is cover athlete, pre-order bonuses and that Shaq is somehow involved.
Prices are still the same (amazon.com $60, amazon.de €30, my local retailers PC AAA pricing).

It's 100 days to the release. I would expect a trailer giving us 3 biggest new features, not "there's a lot going on, we can't tell you anything".
I can't possibly think of any reason why they won't tell us single thing. This is not about no PC news anymore, this is about serious lack of information in general.

Re: Any news about NBA 2K15 for PC?

And you have 100 more days to make an informed decision before the game is released, and then a year to read reviews and other users' opinions. That's what I've been saying even before I joined 2K. I don't see how 100 days makes it weird that not much more information is out. Information will come, and there's a lot we have to announce.

You have to remember, this is a shortened cycle. Development has been compressed, so information may come later than usual.

Disclaimer: I do not decide nor am I privy to the marketing schedule.

Well, I am not at all surprised that there was no 'real' announcement during the livestream. I just hope you guys in 2K do a great job ( especially on PC ) because this year's edition is the first NBA game I will buy legitimately.

Re: Any news about NBA 2K15 for PC?

Can I ask why the cycle was shortened? Or are you just talking about annual releases in general having shorter cycles?

Re: Any news about NBA 2K15 for PC?

Sun Jun 29, 2014 3:14 am

Next gen was released one and a half months later than normal. Usual cycles are early October to early October.

So maybe because cycles are shortened, 2K will do only one version of the game (which is next-gen) and just scale the graphics across platforms accordingly lol
I am just dreaming

I prefer TurboGrafx-16 or Neo-Geo port imo.

Many people have mentioned the fact that the PC user base is much smaller than that of the console user base. Couldn't a valid point be made that the PC user base would be much larger if it were fully supported? I would bet that most people who had both a PC and console last year bought the console version because it was just flat out better. Not to mention it being fully featured with a working online mode. If the PC gets a full next-gen port this year, it would be a very good start to bridging the gap between the PC and console user base. Most users won't mind paying full price if it's next gen and fully featured, so that doubles their sales from last year right there. Also if EA gets their act together this year(And I think they will) won't 2K need the PC sales to help off-set some of the competition? Because we all know LIVE 15 is not going to be released on the PC. PC sales could also add to the money they make through online VC purchases as well. I would think that the percentage of hardcore players is higher among PC users, so they would be more willing to make additional online purchases. Lastly, with the line between the PC and console platforms being blurred more and more everyday by products like the iPad, Android, nVidia Shield, Ouya, Twitch, XBMC among others, I feel they need to expand their user base instead of focusing it. The PC market is not going away, in fact it's getting bigger. Especially in Europe and Asia. The piracy argument is just a cop out in my opinion. I wonder how many people who never really played sports games before decided to download a cracked copy of NBA 2K** and realized it was a great game and went out and bought it to play online, or bought it to support the company that made it. Or bought the next years game. Or at the very least told their friends about it. I don't condone pirating a piece of software that you use on a regular basis, that is no different than stealing. But IMHO it can't be used as an excuse. The fact that Game Of Thrones made it past season 2 proves that point. So that's just my two cents.

Party boat. It didn't come back into port on time because the "new Greek guy" wanted to take a spin at the helm.

2K has never said this is why the PC version is the way it is, it is fan/userbase speculation based on what other companies have said about the PC platform.

columbusbobby23 wrote:Couldn't a valid point be made that the PC user base would be much larger if it were fully supported?
Yes, except it already was... NBA 2K10 on PC is actually the "definitive" version of NBA 2K10. The PC patch was later than the console patch and actually had additional fixes the consoles didn't receive, like referees doing a bounce pass to the free throw shooter instead of a normal chest pass, and iirc something to do with big men shooting 3s was fixed on PC but not on consoles. NBA 2K11, aside from friend support, was fully featured as well (aside from broken online graphics). It wasn't until 2K12 where the PC version was starting to get really watered down with limited online features which continued to 2K13 and 2K14 not getting all game modes.

I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but NBA 2K10 and NBA 2K11 had similar "players online" numbers as NBA 2K14 on its best day. The physical only and not-too-reputable http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=nb ... esults=200 shows 2K11 as the highest seller, but again that just led to 2K12 becoming what it did.

We can say what if or what 2K could have or should have done, but it doesn't change the position we are in. They choose what kind of game we get. If they water it down and no one buys it because of that, they are going to have data backing the idea to support PC even less. It sucks, but it does make sense in a business sense.

I have the utmost respect for Leftos, and all of the NLSC admins in general. :applaud: BUT, Leftos being a PIston fan just really makes me happy. I have not seen many true piston fans on here other than Leftos. So great job with everything at 2K Leftos. and please make sure NG is on PC. :bowdown2: LOL! :D

In my investigation, I have seen that in all PC listing, almost none have displayed PC preorder along with the DVD-ROM logo. That is good. And considering that the Steam logo appeared on the preorder box or something, it is even better.
Why? Because if it has DVD-ROM, the chances of next gen are so slim considering that DVDs have only ~7 GB of storage and as I have found out, Next Gen file size was almost 40 GB.
These are just fruits of observation, though. Still, this is logical proof of my dream.

NBA Live 2004 through 06 came on multiple CDs, 07 and 08 were on a single DVD

DVD-ROM is not really an indicator of much

But wouldn't it be impractical if, say they are going to release next gen NBA on 5 DVDs? It is 2014 now.
I think my point is that, we can rule out the "we are not going to get next gen" thing.
