Can anyone tell me how to load the roster file which I have downloaded offline into the game? And which position should I put the roster file into the game file? Why the game will prompt the roster file is corrupt?

Answer's in the OP. Roster update fixes require a new save with that roster, they can't be applied retroactively.

Leftos, you seem like a nice guy. Obviously Pdbub and I do not understand from your OP or your latest post whether this roster fix has anything to do with the MyPlayer/MyCareer mode. It sounds like it may only effect rosters for other modes? Will the generated rookies in the MYPlayer/MyCareer using the original roster be defective somehow?

Leftos, How would we know if the roster is updated already?

It is, I just used the official 2K roster to create mine, and this time no server issue and there has been some player moves as far as I can tell.
Dumb question though: by default, is the locally saved roster the one that gets loaded each time you start the game, or is there anything to do manually for this (like it used to be in previous versions of the game)?
Sat Oct 11, 2014 12:21 am
el badman, Actually I'm asking it because I manually install? I don't have idea if I install it right.

The latest roster, as with previous iterations, gets downloaded silently along with any updated art when you boot the game. If you want to be extra sure you have it, you can follow my instructions to save a local copy using the Roster Creator.
A quick indication for Friday's update is if you create a draft class and when you edit a center they don't have pick and roll ball handler and midrange as their play types.

MyPlayer/MyCareer uses rosters, it creates generated players after one season, it is a game mode...so yes it was affected.

So to reiterate, as soon as the game boots up the newest rosters are automatically downloaded and installed, I don't have to go download anything myself ? I'm on PC steam by the way
today I turned on the game, a pop up saying "New Updates are available, return to the main menu"
I was already on the main menu, and also when I went manually looking for rosters trying to download the OFFICIAL ROSTER gave me a server error multiple times so I couldn't download it.
Is it safe to start a new My Player mode now ? I just deleted the one I had for a few days because of this newest roster... will we have to restart My player all over again every time there's new roster update ?

Roster updates, independent of whether they contain fixes like this, can't propagate and overwrite the roster in a game-mode save that you've already started. It's been known for years that if a roster update has something you need, you'd need to start a new mode to get the changes.
To make sure you have the latest roster, start a new MyLEAGUE, and when prompted what to do with the draft class, choose Create/Edit. Then edit a Center, and notice his play-types. If they're P&R Ball Handler and Mid-Range, you don't have it yet. If they're anything else, you're good, and you can start a MyCAREER.

I have to run with Steam in offline mode, or the game won't load. 2K15 doesn't appear to have downloaded any new roster update.
Is there a way to manually download roster updates?
How can I tell if the game downloaded the updated roster?

Do you even read?

Yes, thanks. I don't have the updated rosters.
I can't run the game if Steam is in online mode. I guess that means the game is also offline. When I go to the Connect menu item, there is a message that I must be signed in to access the feature.

Thanks, Brawn. I just feel like Leftos could have specifically addressed our MyPlayer/MyCareer question without blithely stating his original post covered it. I mean, it is a pain in the ass to re-start a MyPlayer I spent a bunch of time on, and other people have actually spent cash on theirs, so I feel like asking someone from 2K to specifically address that mode was not too much to ask. I guess we should be grateful Leftos bothered to keep us posted at all? Nonetheless, I am so grateful to have 2K on the computer

, I will probably purchase some VC. Take the money and hire better play testers!!!

Yeah... about that...

I did quote the MyCAREER question and specifically said you'd need a new save to get the fixes.
I understand it's a pain in the ass to have to start a new save to get a fix. If there was a way to do that and get the fix out that fast, I would've done that instead. I'll investigate whether we can fix current saves in a patch, but that might be some time away still. Again, my apologies. It sucks that something like this slipped through the cracks, and it bothers me more than it does any of you, having spent a whole year working on this iteration of the game.
That said, you could make your point without the ironic/sarcastic tone.

thanks Leftos...
I just spent a little while going through the edit roster options and holy crap, you guys have put so many options for players this year, I think everything except changing hairstyles and beards is covered.... Various things in regards to a players game, this is pretty crazy if they all work like they're supposed too
This year the roster makers are going to have a huuuuuuuuuuuge job to get some legit rosters out and it's gonna take quite a while
Sat Oct 11, 2014 11:14 am
So, could someone clarify for me: if we have to restart our MyCareer saves, will we be refunded the VC that we've spent on our current one?
Sat Oct 11, 2014 11:26 am
^ no.... I used up my pre order VC and now when I started new MyCareer it's not there....
they really REALLY want you to spend your money on VC, they built the game that way.... the $60 you paid for it isn't enough
Sat Oct 11, 2014 2:56 pm
Can someone share a local copy of the roster?
Sat Oct 11, 2014 3:17 pm
What do you mean by a local copy? Like the original one>

Leftos wrote:You can keep an offline copy of the official roster update (as well as any roster) by going to Options > Roster Creator > Create Roster, selecting it, and giving it a name to be saved locally with.
This one brother.
Sat Oct 11, 2014 4:23 pm
That would help me too, since I can't connect to download the roster updates.
I hope there's a fix to that issue - having to run Steam in Offline mode in order to run NBA 2K15.

Is the roster out yet? Any chance that someone could upload it for us who have not internet access in our home? (Im posting from the university library). Can't wait to begin myCareer
