Patch #3 Out Now (PS4, PC, X1)

I have to say im truly disgusted by 2k/VC.I havent been able to enjoy this game at all due to the very late response of the controller.Its been multiple updates and they still havent fixed this issue.My controller runs good with every other game expect this one.Why? why after patch 1 im facing these terrible problems with my game,and to be honest it seems that every update makes this problem worse for me.Im out of options,if they do not fix this there is absolutely no way in Gods great kingdom that im going to be buying NBA 2k16 for PC.

I know exactly what he is talking about, I think.. He must be talking about the input lag.. I don't think it's a controller problem though, it's just the game.. I have gotten used to it now.. I kinda figured with all the animations there was bound to be that sluggish feeling with the game just like past 2K's its annoying until you get some hours in..

Yeah it did get worse with this last patch because now instead of just defense feeling slow everything feels slow and choppy.. I havent been playing the game that much because its so irritating that I always rage quit.. I been playing Far Cry 4 and waiting on GTA now..

Why are you asking? If you're on Steam, this would be no concern to you.

i ask because i want to know.

i unnistalled my nba 2k15 a long before even first patch arrived because it ran very bad on my pc. i see three patches are already out so i wonder will steam download and install each one (one by one) or only third one is going to be downloaded.

In a nutshell it just downloads new/modified files and that's it. So if you install the game now it simply downloads the updated game.

I don't think many people are actually denying that there are issues with the game, or trying to silence critique. It's more trying to sort that constructive feedback and those legitimate complaints from quibbles that arise because someone's rig isn't good enough, something's different from what people are used to (eg certain strategies are no longer appropriate), or paranoia (the whole "2K is trying to shut down modding" conspiracy theory).

Well my GTX 970 is doing pretty well in this game. It's also tearing a new one in Shadow of Mordor. I am quite impressed. However, it comes with some issues of it's own. Older games seem to have a low GPU usage issue. Arkham Origins, Saints Row The Third, and Skyrim among other games are performing worse than what my GTX 660 provided. It's as if the Maxwell architecture ignores "Preferred Maximum Performance" settings in the control panel.

no. update 3 is different from update 2, which is different from update 1. simple answer

It's not about containing the previous patches. What you want to hear is "yes" though it would be misleading.

You just download current trunk. Are you familiar with versioning systems like git or subversion?

If not (I'll simplify it):
Devs (VC) puts all the game files on the Steam server and everyone can download if they have the game in their library.
When devs decide to push a patch, they add new files or modify the current ones. Steam client then downloads the difference so everyone's local files match the master ones on the server.
So in fact there aren't version of thegame like "unpatched", "with patch 1", "with all patches". Servers have only the actual (most recent) version. Clients might have various out-of-date versions which will get updated asap unless they explicitly disable that.

Because of this, if devs changed only one file multiple times it will download just the latest ("fully patched") version.

Okay, I'm getting the same stuttering again. it's after about an hour of play time, so I don't know if maybe the GPU isn't flushing VRAM used after a game or what? Has anybody else encountered this and have a solution?

I found a solution for myself. I unplugged an extra 2GB RAM stick (so now I have 1x 8GB), but also removed the rubber cap thingy on the GPU's sli connector. I did both simultaneously, so I'm not sure which exactly did the trick for me. My GPU is a GTX 970. Though, my late game stuttering was an issue with my GPU, not the game. If you don't have a GTX 900 series card my solution won't work for you.
