Let's at least make some sort of concerted effort to keep the good vibes going with this great news, instead of coming off as this guy:

on my part im done discussing with RashbaNor
everythings said on my part
its useless to debate about MY Pc... thats irrelevant i will be fineand if not i will upgrade simple as that
nothing else to discuss
its only natural that many here are nervous if the Game will run...it can take the wind out of your "Dancing in Happiness" Sails if you suddenly think "wait.. can i even play this???"
so the discussion is valid... but we need more infos before it makes sence
its the same in Forums like Dragon Age Inquisition or Ac:U its just speculation
we just dont know what the game needs to run at what settings
so less panic... more enjoying the day we finally get next gen!

Watch Dogs was made for and optimized for NVIDIA so I understand you running the game fluently. The problem here is that your recommendations may lead to someone on the forums buying a similar setup and regretting it when they see the performance is less than expected.

You're 100% on spot here but Crazy_me takes this thing very subjectively and personal so I guess there's no point in pursuing this issue anymore. Let's just hope that whoever reads all of this will be able to draw the right conclusion.crazy_me_87 wrote:it was about that someone thought i would give bad advice and would be talking basically shit about my PCs performance

One thing you do have right is that waiting for the game to come out is the best thing for anyone to do unless they are willing and have the budget to buy a good and put together a good PC already.
If NBA 2K15 ends up being a CPU-bottle necked/intensive game like Crysis 3, AC IV, Watch Dogs, etc a Core 2 Quad will probably not cut it for a High-Very High Settings. AC Unity looks much better than AC IV so unless the game is optimized well I fear that a 2nd Gen i5/i7 will almost be necessary to get 60+ FPS on Max settings.
I'm worried about my rig too. Excluding my gaming laptop that has an i7 Quad Core with an OCed GT 650M (DDR3, yuck) all my other desktops are AMD CPU based. I'm regretting basing my recent desktop on AMD's FM2+ APU platform. With little chance of the newer CPU (Carrizo) coming out for my motherboard socket and less chance of a 6+ Core CPU/APU coming out I may have built the computer on a soon to be dead platform. The simplest choice would to build a X99 or X79 based PC but I'm not made of money. I can't wait for the specs to be released and maybe a demo to see how it runs on Windows. I' almost lost hope for Next-Gen on PC but I'm relieved it's coming soon. Too many exciting games releasing in the near future.

NBA 2k15 is either.JBulls wrote:If I were Nvidia I would be helping 2K optimize it and even try and get them to include nvidia exclusive tech because they're not in the consoles anymore. They need AAA PC games, and lots of them to stay competitive.

Very mature response, especially after I've buried the hatched and apologized. Very mature indeed.![]()
Anyways... Don't worry guys, I'm 100% certain that NBA 2k15 won't be the PC overkill, the ultimate benchmark, GPU killer. So if you're able to run 1-2 years old games in decent framerates you should be OK.
I'm just hoping Nvidia will be ready with a SLI profile on release day.

good point but i would add some caution because its only aplies between Card that arent too far apart in "generation" and release
so you cant buy an GTX 470 and hope that its better than a GTX 760 because the second digit was higher so thats no no matter what-criteria
it would apply if its just one generation apart like columbusbobby23 said correctly
also for anyone who wants to upgrade his GPU... it can be wise to look for the model with more GB .. a Card with 2 or 3 GB Ram will handle especcially future games probably quite better than one with 512MB or 1GB

Mantle is too problematic. It's a different rendering API so it wouldn't be cost effective for 2K to implement it and for AMD to pay for such implementation. NBA 2k PC is still too niche for such a investment.![]()
But I agree with you on Nvidia thing. They should be much more aggressive on PC market. Driver optimizations, SLI profile, 3D profile - that can and should be done, if only to show games their commitment.crazy_me_87 wrote:Especcially our It Expert in this discussion should know that a huge Part of a PCs performance hinges on how well its optimized,if its "clean" and if the User takes care of it
PC build can't be optimized in any way. Hardware is hardware. It can be messed up by bad assembly or wrong/old drivers but that doesn't degrade performance as much as causes problems like CTDs, freezes, boot up issues etc. What can be optimized is software. Software can be optimized for your PC, not the other way around. So no, there is no 'huge part of PC performance that hinges on how well the PC is optimized'.
But feel free to explain your PC optimizations so they could be utilized by the rest of PC users all around the globe. Dunno... magic which bends physics?
But seriously. You should benchmark those games properly to check your average fps. FRAPs is kinda crappy, it's old and a little unreliable. I don't use it anymore, I'm a big supporter of DXtory. But still, those gameplay recording tools are not benchmark apps.
Or maybe you set up your ForceWare driver so it forces some calculation intensive features off? Or maybe GeForce Experience sets the settings for you? Dunno... but your 6 yo CPU and mid-end GPU is not enough to run Crysis 3 on really high settings. I've got 3790X with two Titans and it sometimes dips below 60 fps in Battlefield 4 @ real ultra settings.

Watch_Dogs is a huge pile of turd when it comes to optimization. It was saved by GPU manufacturers preparing special drivers and by modders who did a hell of a job upgrading the game visuals at almost no performance cost. It's a perfect example of how publisher can shamelessly disregard gamers and still sell the product.
