Not to pick on you in particular, but why are ANY of you playing with keyboards? Controllers cost like $15. Someone please explain this to me.

nextnba wrote:My first impression was that the game is horrible. It didn't really fix any of the annoyance I had with 2k14. The on-ball defense was still bad. You can pretty much drive pass CPU at will. Although, there are more contacts by the hoop, you can't really feel the contact. The players still don't have weight affect. C, PF don't feel any heavier than PG or SG. C, PF seems to run as fast as PG, SG. People keep saying the defense is improved but I could pretty much score at will, even playing on super star. Again, they didn't bother to adjust the schedule for games less than 82. I play the 54 games so I've been stuck with the same schedule since 2k13. The new menu is not easy to use. Something as simple as saving, loading roster is complicated. I tested “my league” just to see what it is like and it automatically saves it and I’m still trying to figure out how to delete it so that I can start a new one w updated roster. Also is that S. Kerr still commentating?

Positive differences that I noticed was the presentation, game intro is very nice and cool, the cheerleaders are hot. They spent more time on the cheerleaders than the players. lol. The graphic is improved and there are some new nice animations. I went for a dunk and a defender was in the way so he threw the ball at the hoop anyway. Also, I’m getting a few charge calls!!!! This is amazing as in 2k14, you never and I mean never got a charge call. The whole year I played the game, not one single charge call. Everything was a blocking foul even though I set “charge” to 100 in settings.

But after doing some adjustments, I got the game to play almost perfectly. I decreased the game speed to 48, which makes it harder to just drive pass CPU. Decrease in-side, mid range and 3’s to 45, more realistic shooting %. I set on-ball defense to 100. Increase foul settings to 75 for all. So far, I’m starting to really love it. Once we add mods, shadow, new sweet, new cfs, I think this game has the potential to be amazing.

Since 2k13, there is the playoff bug hat annoys the hell out of me. The team with the best records doesn’t get home court in the championship game. I’m worried that they didn’t fix this!!!!

Game speed not affect players speed, so u are wrong. If i will find some time i will release sim sliders.
Are u serious with last sentence? OMG 2k

Wow, aren't you a nice guy. And what is your problem with his last sentence? I had that bug happen to me many times and it sucked!

It's not a matter of cost, I already have 2 controllers, but they are for friends when they come over. I am 34 y.o., I grew up playing games with the keyboard. Since a young age I learned to control movement better with my right hand (arrow keys). In controllers it's the other way around, you have to control movement with your left hand and actions with your right. I can't get used to that.

Plus in other games like The Witcher, Mass Effect, Mafia etc, it's easier to aim playing keyboard + mouse.

centrifugal, oh yes im old dude also(same age) haha, i know what you are talking, price is non factor, i need two years of thinking to finally decided to buy controller. When i was young keyboard was the one and only controller :P But dude believe me, when u start playin u get used to that. I cant imagine right now playing wihtout pad. I remember first day with my own pad, i feel stupid with this in my hand haha. Its a matter of time.

first person shooter is made for keyboard and mouse but sport games?

Yep..the bug existed since 13..many people complained but 2k didn't even fix in 14. In the championship match-up, home court is given to the team with the worse of the two records. It annoys the hell out of me!

viewtopic.php?f=151&t=92706&p=1655118&hilit=home+court+bug#p1655118

I got a feeling they didn't fix it this year either.

First impressions was a bit underwhelming when I had to name my player yyyyy YYYYY

Menus look a lot better. I really enjoyed the initial feel and immersion into the game.

Draft classes are new and improved. Love the detail on players in the menu screens as well.

Body types are awful....incredibly bad. David West's arms look like an anorexic model. I cannot believe they have no variation between thicker framed players.....wingspan is nice and all but strength and bulk is a major part of post players game (how often do we talk about rookies needing to add muscle/weight to play in the NBA). I just cannot believe they didn't touch player models this year. NBA Lives players look so much better. I am not big on graphics but different sized player models have been in basketball games for 10+ years....major miss....everyone looks like Kevin Durant out there.

Gameplay felt different and not in a good way. Some wierd spacing issues and I felt like I was playing 2k6 with the PG's attacking me every time not setting up a play.

Overall I would say I am a bit underwhelmed by the on court action. I love the additions to the rest of the game. But all in all I probably won't play this game much. I will be going back to 2k14 with my mods.
2013 is the year?
Thanks to Vl@d, Leftos and all the other patchers for their hard work.

jrlocke, let me guess, u dont know what you talking about or your graphic sets are medium. I can agree with many your thoughts, but the gameplay? And sry if ask but which roster are u using in 2k14? Sliders are real bad, but gameplay core is waaaaaaay better than 2k14 where gameplay was dramatic bad and even good sliders cant help 2k14 gameplay. 2k14 need very deep roster editing and no1 did this in 2k14 section.

Re: First Impressions

Played two full games this morning in myleague, one against Dallas Mavericks and one against the Suns (I'm playing with the Spurs). HOF difficulty, default sliders. Lost the game to the mavs by 6 points. Won the game against the Suns by 2 points with a buzzer beater by Kawhi Leonard.

Impressions Day 2:

- 2K improved a lot when it comes to graphics. I think it's high time they fixed the controls for this game too now. Last year's controls needed streamlining and instead we got even more buttons. Calling a play is a pain in the ass... maybe it's easier with the controller, but I'd imagine it isn't because you still have to assign more keys to call a play compared to last year. I spend around 3 - 5 seconds per offense trying to call the play I want.

- I don't understand why some people here claim that if you're coming from 2k14 you have to start at a lower difficulty. I don't see any substantial differences in regards to gameplay. I already won my first game in hof in the second game of the league. In 2k14 (I hadn't played 2k since 2k10) I had to play around 10 games in hof before I made my first victory.

- Presentation is much better this year, most images look slick.

- CPU AI not that much better than 2k14. Against the suns, I made a pick (Parker, Duncan), defense changed so Duncan was left with Thomas in defense (huge mismatch). I fed Duncan, pounded Thomas a couple of times until I got right under the basket and made an easy as hell shot. I'd expect the CPU to either send a second defender and help or Thomas to foul Duncan before Duncan gets a chance to shoot.

- I come from 2K14 PC so for me the graphics / animations are enough for this year. I don't know if I'd say the same if I'd be coming from 2k14 consoles.

- I think it's necessary to lower the sliders this year as well. Both me and the CPU make an awful lot of contested shots

- 2K needs to patch this game in order for programs like sweetFX, radeonpro and other graphics enhancing utilities to be able to work with this game. It looks great but with a few modifications (contrast, brightness, gamma, tesselation control, an. filtering, triple buffering etc) this could look incredible.

- Although the game looks incredible, sometimes it feels all the players' mothers died yesterday. They look too angry / sour all of the time.

Never use HOF difficulty, cpu start cheesing, allstar and pro with accurate sim sliders(for sure not default) will bring u much more fun( believe me u will lost many times) from this game. Same for 2k9-2k14.

1 week on and I still think this game rocks, I think there are still some slider issues like the AI offensive rebounding and contested shot makes but overall the game play is much improved.

I love the fact that when I play as the knicks they run through plays from the triangle which the off ball players run all the way through instead of broken plays or slow moving plays that left just a second or two on the clock.

Quick question for MyCareer mode.
Anyone was able to figure out how the 15 teams you get to try out are chosed?

- The position, height, wingspan from your created player affects which 15 teams let you tryout?
- They are the worst 15 teams on that simulated season up to that point?
- It's totally random?

The CPU offensive rebounding is STILL horrendous. I mean, how does a player whose surrounded by 3 defenders repeatedly grabs the ball? I saw a sequence where Mark Gasol had his shot blocked by
"Boogie" Cousins, was surrounded by 2 other players, yet he still got the ball back, and put it in. And we won't even talk about contested jump shots... Something needs to be done here. And how do you control all the timeouts? After one team calls one, 5 seconds later, the other team calls one.

I love the game so far. But I really hate how the cpu makes an awful lot of contested shots and, they just cant seem to miss those putbacks. Overall though the games been pretty enjoyable. :)

Play in Sim mode instead of default, it makes a ton of difference. Both you and the CPU will make less contested shots. If you think the CPU still makes a lot of contested shots, you can decrease the value in the sliders.

Just play around with tweaking the sliders a bit.

Other than the off rebounding cpu problem there isnt much in the game slider wise that cant be fixed.

Guys are going to make shots, even when they're contested. It's the NBA. Guys make shots with hands in their faces. Guards make acrobat layups over seven footers. As long as you're hitting a reasonable clip for % on both sides, you're fine.

just played few games and i'm done until pc patch.

in my case, highest playble setting is medium with special effects "off" and it still stutters, plus it looks way much worse than 2k14/2k13 all on max setting.

so..my impression are great i would give the grade 9.2 out of 10

I play mostly offline matches with friends, i'm not really interested in online games, myplayer will be played sometimes later but to get on the point

PROS
* graphics looks almost photorealistic
* out of box roster is better than ever before
* gameplay is much more realistic and physical
* love the additions of ernie and shaq, better cheerleaders than before
* loving the points of emphasis during timeouts
* badges make every player unique and individual
* lots of added attributes is plus

CONS
* no option for saving instant replays (insane)
* lots of player removed from free agents pool while some are kept (battier & billups for example)
* rookies looking okay but they dont have any tattoos (this happens in every 2k lol)
* halftime show is dull and unfinished
* that roster thing is ridicilous, not being able to add roster offline and load it in game is borderline stupid
* headband option is also mysteriously gone

that's all from now, those pros and cons are mostly spontaneous i'm not one of those guys who play game just to find flaws in the game lol
