I submitted the pre-load question to Steam support on the 23rd. Still waiting to hear back. The support ticket is still open.

Yeah, Steam Support is about the only thing that really sucks about whole Steam, but I guess that would be because people tend to send tickets which are asking for support for specific non-Valve games, which are out of scope of Steam Support, but they have to get through them (and answer them) anyway.

Maybe if a few more of us put in tickets asking about a pre-load, we could get it done. Or at least get an answer from them.

It couldn't hurt.

Ronnie2K already said in the Steamforums, that he tries to get it done but not 100% garantee, yet. But well, I don't care as I bought it on Amazon.de and they will ship it not before 9. October I guess.

Or you might take the download as a lunch break and stock up on food as you're going to play all weekend long :D

As Europeans its probably the best to torrent the Game after US-Release and already put it in the Steamfolder and when I get my Key, just put it into Steam and I am ready to go. Otherwise I would have to wait another 10-24hrs of Download depending on the Size. Still not sure how the Physical Version ships. If it takes 50GB to install, I can't see it being smaller than 20GB.

Sure, if someone is going to release "unmodified" game files I wouldn't have any moral problems with that (neither legal ones in my country I think), but a head start would be nice I suppose.

BTW get better ISP, I could download whole 50GB in like 3 hours and if it will be around 30GB of dl data it would take me around 100 minutes to download it.
And that's considered pretty much an average speed over here.

Where I live 6MBits is max, I can't get faster Internet unless I get it through TV-Cable.

If it's going to be 30-40GB to download and many people are trying to download at the same time, Steam might not be able to upload it to everybody at their ISP's maximum speed. A pre-load would bypass all of those problems and we could play the game a little bit earlier. It would also help people that are going to need a day or two to download it.

My ISP - $45/mo = 15Mbps = 5-7hrs.

To be precise it's $27/mo 40dl/2up
The upload is terrible (no streaming for me :/ ) and my ISP even after few mails wasn't willing to make better offer. Even though we have backbone running like 3km from our town.

I'm somewhat on a verge of getting offered long-term work, so I think I will move out in a year and something and there I will be able to get for the same price ($27/mo) 150Mbps internet - with flexible configuration, they offer 50/100, 75/75, 100/50 configs (you can change it once a day). Or even go to 100/100 for additional $1.5 per week.

So that's why my connection is somewhat average in here.

Yep. That's why I immediately canceled my preorder at a store and just opted out for Steam prepurchase. Lucky for me that I study at a university that has 1Mbps download speed.

Are you sure the connection is that slow at your university? Because at that speed you are going to have to download day and night for 4-5 days.

Your universities download speed is slow considering universities have fast bandwidths in our case we can have atleast a mininum of 15mbps of download speed..
