Incredibly frustrating upgrade system

I know I've asked this before, but does anyone have any idea how the upgrade attributes system works after you hit around an 88 rating? At first, it seems like you have unlimited upgrades but very limited VC. Now I have a ton of VC but the upgrades refuse to lock. Wasting VC on nonsense like clothes. I know I played over 7-8 games, the gap that is between upgrades allowed, and I had a crappy B- BS practice session, but I haven't gotten squat. Is that because of the bad practice session? They cannot seriously screw me out of one measly upgrade because of that 5 minute nonsense.

I'm about to give up on this bs. They trying to drop us little pellets like we're rats or something? How in the world is everyone in my park a 95+??? It's made worse because I'm playing the full 12 min quarters. It takes me about 8 man hours of work and I'm due an upgrade.

Does starting and then simming each game to the end contribute to upgrades? Really sick of playing each of these games just to grind out an upgrade. Must've played 130 myplayer games already.

Some help please? It seems like I've played at least 10 games since my last upgrade and still haven't gotten one. I had a crappy practice (I can never get a decent grade in those things, despite excelling in-game). My playmaking sucks and I'm averaging 8 turnovers per game as a PG. The damned big guys keep stealing the ball after a pick and roll; I swear my guy is open when I pass it but the defending big guys close way too quickly and my pass floats way too slowly. One of the patches back then fixed the problem but it seems like the patch after that reversed it.

Maybe you reached the limit of upgrades you could receive? And you need to play a game to the end, otherwise it won't count as played game. Do not sim it. Instead you could just foul out every game?

I don't think I've reached the limit. I'm only ranked 89. Maxed out on Defense, Rebounding, Athleticism, but even then, those stats are only at 95. Almost everyone in Mypark is 95 or better.

I do play the games all the way through. Really annoying however that the upgrades have now slowed to a trickle. Last year, I was at 99 for all stats after playing the same amount of games as this year. I don't mind not being 99, but if everyone else in mypark is 99, it's just not fair.
