Dunk contest?

Is there a way to practice the dunk contest? I know someone told me that there is but you have to somehow simulate it. I have it coming up in MyPlayer calendar and have no clue what to do or even if I'm invited. Why keep this feature so hidden? Why can't they do an extra menu item for a dunk and 3 pt contest if they're going to incorporate the bulk of the programming/feature/animation into the game?

Just start a MyLEAGUE and sim to all-star weekend. It's simple enough.
