Quiet audio?

Fri Oct 31, 2014 1:04 am

Is audio particularly quiet for anyone else? I can max both my system and in-game volume and its still much quieter than anything else would be with the volume maxed. I have to max my volume to get a sound I would like, when I rarely ever go to 50% for other applications. I have to make sure to turn volume down before exiting the game otherwise my system reminds me how absurdly loud I have my speakers set to.

My drivers are up to date, and I've checked all the relevant in-game options/sliders. Just wondering if this is a known issue.

Edit: Also, when I first fire up the game my audio defaults to this:

I then make sure to max it out, but it's still much quieter than anything on my system. I've also never had a program default to a low volume like this before...anyone able to shed some light on this?

Are interviews at half time really quiet for you, because sometimes I can barely hear what players are saying?

Why is the nba2k15 volume slide so low? That could be your problem.

I think you didn't read the thread, Pdub.

I didn't see the text under the image.

Check your speaker properties in the control panel, maybe there is a setting you change or something is set causing the issue. I know I have an issue with the play by play announcers getting their volume lowered whenever the crowd noise elevates.

Sine the program is lowering it's own volume, maybe after you increase it and go back in game it lowers it again?

Turns out the "Dolby Digital Plus" that affects my audio turns off whenever I launch the game (only happens for this game as far as I know)--turning it on fixes the problem for me.

As far as the volume slider for the game being turned low when I launch, I still have no idea why it's happening but it's not a big issue since I need to manually turn Dolby on every time I start the game anyways. Certainly weird/annoying but it's fixable so I no longer consider the audio a problem.

Generally speaking though (pretty sure it's how the game is), game commentary is quiet without serious slider adjustments and the halftime interviews are borderline inaudible.

Yep, the commentary and half time volume is a problem for everyone.

Right click your little speaker thingy on your taskbar, goto playback or recording devices, goto the communications tab, change that setting to Do Nothing.

This will screw up Skype and other stuff though.

Wow, this worked! I have no idea why, but this (in conjunction with making sure to turn on Dolby after the game shuts it off) completely fixed the audio issue. Thanks a bunch, problem solved.
