Passing

Thu Oct 23, 2014 5:07 am

I love the passing options in 2k15. In addition to bounce passing (which is awesome in itself), they added lob passes for defenders fronting the post AND fake passing on the fly. That is awesome for when you're running the break and want to fake to the guy on the left and pass to the guy on the right. Would be cool if, instead of stopping afterwards, you HAVE to pass or shoot - otherwise be called for the travel. Right now, after you fake a pass, the guy stops.

Anyone have success with lob passing into the post? I seem to always get it intercepted by the cpu defender fronting the post. Is it cause my passing rating is 70?

I actually just noticed this yesterday when playing with my brother.. I was like "man I miss the days when you could choose bounce, lob, or direct pass" and He was like "yea that should have been in the game idk why they took it out" Then I look in the menus just to make sure and low and behold LT+Y

Yep, the buttons are intuitive too. Modifier + the four face buttons (on an Xbox controller). Top one is to lob, cause it's on top. Left (X) is alley oop cause it's the shoot button also. Bottom (A) is a bounce pass cause it's on the bottom. And the right button is for a fancy pass. Four different types of passing. So cool.

I love the options they are giving us for passing......but it seems slugish. I have a PG with 95 to all playmaker abilities and the passes I make with him seem to initiate very slowly. Like the time from when I hit the button, to the animation playing out seems like it's far too long. Most times this causes turnovers for me, because once I choose to pass it to that open player, or one driving, by the time the animation plays out, someone steps in front of him and steals it.

I've tried working on my timing and passing a little earlier in their cuts or w/e, but it's still far too slow than what I believe it should be. Great options for passing, just not intuitive enough.
