The Official "Positive Feedback" Thread

They say positive reinforcement is a better way to raise a child than harsh punishment...

Similar to the Wishlist thread & Bug report thread, except the other way around -- report what aspects you like about 2k15 and that you would hope stay in the game for future releases. Whether it be an aspect about the gameplay, a particular mode, the interface, a little tidbit, anything. I'll compile the best ones from this thread and paste/edit them into this here initial post as we go. We will never have a feature that we like removed again.

Think about it from the developer's angle, if you spend a significant amount of time working on something over a matter of months or years, it's easy to lose all perspective on it. For me personally, when i make music, by the time i'm finished a song i have no idea whether it's good or bad, it becomes just a series of frequencies to me. So with that in mind, help the 2k developers know what they've done right. Because they do read these forums. And it's the only way they can know for sure what "clicks" with the community.

I'll start...

- I really like the mini-description/title/summary thing that players get when you hover their name via the roster screen. I.e. the things that say things like "Offensive superstar" or "lockdown defender" or "two-way forward" or "skilled shooter" or "faceup four" or "slashing guard" etc. It's a cool way to quickly ascertain the "flavour" of the players on a team. There seems to be heaps of variation too, because they are always really specific and on the money. You can tell 2k put some love and care into this little tidbit. And i love that it is based on the player's attributes, which means it is dynamic and can change from season-to-season as you cruise through MyGM mode or if you change ratings yourself through the roster editor.

- The individual player attributes are really good this year. Way less guess-work than in past years. They're now more knowledgeable of the players they're rating.

Others...

As a PC only gamer I'm ecstatic about the game.

I agree with the ratings, they're a great step up, though I still feel like defensive ratings could be split up into two separate categories.

New freelance offense. As a Heat fan I love it. Probably due to the fact that I watch Heat play, I subconsciously try to mimic how they play their "Pace and Space" and this year I'm getting big support from my teammates because of this addition. I bet Spurs fans and people using triangle offense are feeling same way.

I like the ramped up defensive difficulty - it separates men from boys in that regard. No easy total stops.

Added details like dynamic crowd are amazing. I think 2K16 could be more focused on visual details - like cameramen on court etc. But a huge step forward in this regard. Especially it's great to see home crowd cheering, but several away team fans just sitting unhappy. Or the fact that when big team is playing some smaller team, the crowd is really mixed.

#1 I also like those descriptions (lockdown defender, inside shooter, one of a kind). Really gives more concise description without going through stats and skills.
#2 Really admire the random events of MyCareer. The voiceover of NBA players (even if they sound lazy sometimes) really give more feel of authenticity and makes me feel like I am in the game instead of just playing it.
#3 More specialized stats in MyCareer. You can just focus on one aspect of gameplay or be an all around player.
#4 Animations look sick. The massive selection of different size-ups, rituals, etc are really overwhelming.
#5 Much smarter AI. AI teammates take smart shots and even good passing decisions.

Yeaaah collisions look (Y) and so do all other animations and new dunks. I really like some of the alley oop dunks and have realistic they look depending on the distance where the pass was caught. Sick game  (Y) upgrade from 1080p to 1440p monitor also helps to enjoy this masterpiece. Havnt had a single crash or whatever else so many are complaining about. I believe the fact that affinity thing helps for some means that in some cases (whether its OS or something ) the game does not utilize all 4 / 8 cores and if the cpu is not overclocked that single core which the game uses in those cases cpu causes slowdowns/stutters, since from what I have observed the game is not that much gpu dependent but it is real heavy on the cpu - my i3570k overclocked to 4,6ghz gets utilized up to 100%, but gpu memory even @1440p does go over 2,5gb of gpu ram.

I have played 10 or so games, and played CPU v CPU 20+ games. Opposing superstars (CPU) are scoring big points, getting rebounds and assists - playing like superstars. It's no longer watching LeBron shoot 4 times in a playoff game against his team.

Rebounds. So good. Players actually time their jump, even when the ball is bouncing on the rim, and grab it in a nice animation instead of helplessly flying past it.

A really good balance of blocks. While blocks on layup attempts might be a tad too low out of the box, we no longer have ridiculous amounts of blocked jumpshots because defenders aren't superhuman leapers with cat like reflexes anymore.
As a defender you're usually reacting to your opponent instead of anticipating everything. How many times do you block jump shots in real life on opponents as tall or taller than you? Rarely. Because you won't jump at the same time as them going up for a shot.
And it makes if feel that much more rewarding if you get a nice block.

Rebounds !!!!!
allaround gameplay much improved (though defense feels slow at times)
my park is cool
my team system doesnt appeal...
 ball boys during practice :)) (Y) finally !!!! :bowdown2:

mistakes i hope to see corrected in future patch :

- let us see what player is controlled by defending opponent in online games (i hate cheesy opponents who let cpu guard me)

- no keyboard ? no talking system with the opponent ?

- allow to play custom roster with a friend

- shoes systems is bad ...we should be able to select original instead of systematic color customisation ...and the ones you have to buy with VC are ugly too

- Bring back the stamina bars in quick substitution menus (its a pain to call a timeout to know stamina of your players)

Do you have a favorite team? I do. The Rockets. As such I can usually jump in with that team and know how each player plays and play to their strengths and play well right away.

That being said, I went the route of MyTeam this year to build my own team and safe to say that has become my rabbit hole. I am loving it. And playing the different teams is not a cakewalk like it has been in the past. And not to the point of frustration where the CPU plays so well to where it doesn't miss shots but to where you are just out hustled for loose balls and rebounds and miss a defensive assignment here or there. It feels real. Real basketball is happening on my PC.

2K has outdone themselves this year.

I feel like I get to the main menu and see the different modes that I can play and that I have not even TOUCHED yet.

I went in feeling My Career would be my one stop goto play option and it's there and I want to play it, but I cannot move away from MyTeam.

This game has so many playing options which means come this time next year when 2K16 releases I may be still DEEP into 2K15. That speaks volumes to the job these guys have done.

I know there will be much griping by the vocal FEW, but the good of this game comparatively is just

Thanks 2K. Thanks very much!!!!

So far I really like playing with the Wizards, and am considering starting a MyLeague/MyGM with them and trying to get Durant in Free Agency.

I'm loving the gameplay. Spacing, freelance offenses, just beautiful. Players seem to replicate their real life counterpaths which can not be understated. With this solid gameplay I think I'm just going to use 2K for MyLeague and get deep into it. I actually hope 2K don't mess with gameplay in any patch (rather concentrate on mode bugs/online performance).

Speed of menus/team select is great. No lag there & very seamless transitions.

Rebounding animations/"physics" are greatly improved.

- Menus. Best they've been for years. No more right analog menus overlapping other menus. Quick, smooth and most things where they should be

- Smoother and more responsive controls (compared to next-gen 2K14). A pleasant surprise really. 2K is still not there in terms of 1:1 feel like their competitor but they are improving for sure. Dribble moves are more responsive, passes are (slightly) quicker and the game probably has the best user controlled screens and screen options I've experienced.

- Overall stunning image quality. Complaints about some graphical downgrades aside, the general look is still great. Sweat has never looked better in a video game, something I was disappointed with last year (tattoo resolution) has greatly increased (easiest comparison to make is Lillard's blurry arm tats from last year to this year) and they are making an effort with hair visuals as well (Dirk still looks weird). Oh and skin tones are second to none, discolorations, blemishes, not just 'pink' textures for lighter skinned players. Generally impressive.

- Some of the awkward and ugly around the hoop animations plaguing the series have been fixed or removed.

- Almost the whole league has their face scanned which is a mighty effort. Rookies, bench players, coaches. Great to see.

- While there is a lot of debate (which will continue) with PC compatibility, the devs still deserve credit for 1. releasing the current version on PC and 2. adding some PC only settings (AA, effects, quality levels etc) that are often missing in console to PC ports.

- Small but appreciated change... the 'director's cut' overlay no longer overlays and ruins screenshots ;)
