Player wingspan value

Postby TessellatedMind on Sun Oct 12, 2014 5:08 pm

I'm trying to figure out what kind of formula/rationale is used to determine the slider for the player's wingspan?

The default value is 50, but what does that actually mean? 5 inches? the ratio between height and wingspan?

I've looked at the value for some players (Kawahi Leonard, LeBron, etc.) and all the values are set at 50, but if I try to modify it, to say, 51, their arms are gonna snap a bit shorter. This gives me the idea that the wingspans are somehow preset for the existing players.

Does anybody have some input on this?

Thanks!

And do check out this interesting read about wingspan - http://bleacherreport.com/articles/864549-nba-basketball-what-qualifies-as-a-freakish-wingspan-in-the-league

I'm trying to figure out the correct Wingspan or at least the average wingspan of a 6'1 person but I'm confused on this as well

Average wingspan is the default.
Longer wingspan = Higher chance on getting blocked
Shorter = great dribble animations
Longer = Can block niggas left and right
Shorter = I dont know

The wingspan for the real players do seem to be preset because even KD's is set to 50 (meaning that value likely represents their real life wingspan) even though his wingspan doesn't look average during gameplay.

I'm assuming for created players, leaving it at 50 is the average wingspan, meaning however tall you are, that's your wingspan since average wingspan is supposed to be equal to height.

Reason why I think this is the case is because if you create a MyCareer Player, putting the wingspan all the way up just looks like a player with a long wingspan. If you go to Kevin Durant and edit his wingspan from 50 to 100, you will get a freakishly unrealistic wingspan.

That's what I'm getting from it anyway.

^ Glory what you mean you lowered it to 96? it goes from 0-100 doesn't it ??

I was actually going through some of the Clippers players and body type options I noticed a few that were noticeably off.... Blake's wingspan was longer than it should have been he's known to have shorter arms than normal, while Dandre Jordan's wingspan was way low, I think it was like below 60... I almost maxed that bitch out to like 95 cuz that dude has tree limbs for arms...
I also need to cheat engine Giannis Antekoumps wingspan to 200, lol

I also changed Blake shoulder with from I think it was at 51, to like 85 since he's real bulky and wide up there...
I think the only 2 guys in the game whose shoulder width should be maxed out would be Dwight Howard and George Hill who has a ridiculously ridiculous body type

Maybe average wingspan is suppose to be same as height but I'm 6'4 and I have a 6'8 wingspan.. In real life
