Interview with Leftos (NLSC Podcast Episode #95) - MyGM/MyLEAGUE Info

Wed Sep 17, 2014 10:09 pm

We had a chat with Leftos about his time at Visual Concepts and the stuff he's been working on for NBA 2K15, in Episode #95 of the NLSC Podcast:
http://www.nba-live.com/nlsc-podcast-ep ... interview/

Lots of great info on MyGM and MyLEAGUE in NBA 2K15, including player progression and regression, the injury system, the customisation options, and much, much more. Plus, Leftos talks about his first year at VC, offers some tips on how to break into the industry, and answers questions from the community!

A huge thanks once again to Leftos for taking part, and to VC for giving us the green light to do it.

Maaaan, i'm so hyped for MyLEAGUE / MyGM mode now. It sounds AWESOME. Association mode is the only mode i play, thank god Leftos got on the 2k team lol. It's great to hear they've finally tweaked the nuts and bolts of Association mode. I'm gonna have to upgrade my computer to run this bad boy.

I'm really excited about player progression, scouting, improved generated players, gameplans being based off of the coaches preferences, comparing team gameplans i.e. STAT tracker, player personalities (egotism and work ethic! awesome!), and a bunch more... Holy shit i haven't been this hyped for an NBA game for yeeears... Association was so neglected before, now it sounds so deep and FINALLY REALISTIC... I probably shouldn't get my expectations too high though, haha... but it certainly sounds like Leftos' mind is in the right place in regards to developing Association mode properly. :applaud:

Great podcast !

A few more details and tips were provided, as well as some of the things that were considered for the features added/fixed to these modes (My GM and My League).

But wha I mostly enjoyed, was his anecdots and sharing of his job experiences and relationship. Also, even tho one could inmediately percieve his passion just by his contribution to our community prior his 2K hiring, it is refreshing to hear it peak on that podcast ... am really excited to play 2K15 !

Thanks to all whom contributed to make this podcast a reality and hope that this relationship (between game devs and us) further develops and cements even more.

Gutted that my question wasn't asked but it was a fun 2 hours!

As a graduating IT student, the podcast gave me a lot of inspiration (though I'm quite pissed off here in my internship, good thing NLSC isn't blocked in our company) to DO MORE. Leftos is my IDOL! Go Devs! Excited for MyGM! :applaud:

It had already been confirmed that the D-League isn't in the game before we recorded the show.

Impressed that you went back and checked what I asked! Didn't know there was already confirmation on this.
I had another question in the bag but it came to my head too late, anyway it wasn't in Leftos' area of expertise.
I really want to know what have they done with PC online security, let's be honest, all the cheaters and hackers have ruined the online experience for years and it has been the main reason why no attention was given to those game modes in our platform.
