I been playing around with them but it's hard for me to tell what is taking place when I turn it on or off.

Antialising level/quality will make blocky edges look smooth. The higher the better. Vsync is important to have turned on if you see screen tearing. Aspect ratio is probably already set correctly so you normally don't have to mess with that. Special effects are shine / reflections etc... if your game is choppy / laggy you might want to turn it off and see if it improves.

My settings are AA 2/2 and all other maxed out, 1280x1024.
Hairs of some players look like erinaceus spines. Is this related to antialising?
