Self alley oop travel

Postby ThePointForward on Sat Oct 11, 2014 4:20 pm

So I'm just playing MyGM as Heat, Cole got injured (broken kneecap, ouch) so I'm actually using Shannon Brown as backup SG.
Last match I was palying against Hornets and it kinda became a blowout, so at the end I wasn't taking it too seriously and when I saw that passing lane I tried to intercept.
Shannon Brown is running alone on fastbreak, so I go for self alley oop (why the hell not) and he throws it to himself without using the board! Yeah, he throws it into air and than slams it down.
Now that I would expect from a Park match, not from games with NBA rules :D

Happened to me too while playing with the Lob City. CP3 was leading the break and what I wanted to do was bang it against the backboard so that Blake could catch it but turns out, Paul lobbed it in the air and then catches it himself like he's doing a private jump ball.
Rest In Peace Kobe

I know that self-oop with throwing to ball in air isn't travel 'cause I was see it in a game from David Lee when he was in Knicks...:D

I think it technically should be a travel or double dribble, but it's one of those things they let slide in the NBA.

Its not travel until you jump in the moment of ball releasing. Other situation are clear travel but NBA dont care about details

How do you travel when you are in the air? I think that is the reason it doesn't get called.
