hmmm so the actual .exe file has to be edited in order to do this same thing for dunks? or is it just for dunks in the contest?... I tried editing these dunk animations for 2k13 but since I'm not that great at hex editing, I'm not totally sure if I was moving data to the correct places because I never noticed any changes in dunk animations.

Can you fix the spin jumpshots animations? They are WAY OFF. They look funky and it just ruins my game when I stupid spin move. It was my go-to move in the clutch in previous games.

Love your patch!
Im a big Kobe fan and i really happy that his old sig shot is here.
Thank you, man.

P.S.
the shot base 31 is almost perfect but there is a glitch/hitch when you use it. i hope you can fix this man.

I'll take a look at that animations info-0

johnnyman28 wrote:awesome job man for the animations!!!congrats!!!i wanna to ask if its possible to continue my season with the modded animations,is it?

Thank you! You can adapt your season if you have a paid version of RED MC, if you only have the free edition I'm afraid to say that you'll find some incorrect animations.

Editing the .exe is needed to set the parameters of any dunk and assign the animations properly, so it's needed for any dunk not only the dunk contest's ones. If you only move data (and that goes with any animation, including sig shots) you could find a lot of bugs.

I will take a look, what do you think that needs to be fixed?

Gamez can you explain me what exactly your patch/mod does ? It adds new animations without removing any of the default animations or it adds animations but also removes the old ones ? Also can it affect my rosters in a bad way (messed up sig shots etc.) ?

Sorry for stupid questions.

Re: Animation Patch

Fri Feb 28, 2014 5:00 am

It replaces some of the default animations for the better ones. That's what I have found out.

This is one of the reasons NBA 2k14 on PC will live long enough for NBA 2k15 to come. ;)

If I can get some more people involved in NBA projects it would be amazing, but for now, I can't predict anything (but PC possibilities are really ENDLESS for modding, so there is very high chance of them grapping it :P).

Gamez patch is one of the reasons ;).

The transitioning animation between spin and actual spin-jumpshot is weird. A player starts making a spin and does it halfway then decides to move back and take a step back and then continues to do the spin-jumpshot. It's really weird and acknowledged by the producers but since there is no patch for PC there was no fix.

Re: Animation Patch

It would be nice if you can make the shot base they use for LeBron James fade away to a shot base we can use on jumpers. The leg kick is nice and appropriate for some guys who does it a lot. I really hope you can make that happen soon!! :D

There is a small glitch/hitch in the gather animation of the Shot Base 31 and it alters the timing of the shot.

about 8 sec and 11 sec of the vid.

Pardon my video. my PC isn't high end and i only used fraps.
You can try it if you want.

How can I get this to work for Xbox 360?

Re: Animation Patch

Sat Mar 01, 2014 5:41 am

Simple answer: You can't.

Re: Animation Patch

Sat Mar 01, 2014 6:02 am

There is a small hitch on every shot almost it seems, nothing that bothers me though. And it doesn't happen every time either.

Thanks info-0, your great support is a wonderful motivation to make this game even better :D Prev this patch adds new animations and I've tried to keep most of the default signature shots, just use the .turk files I provide and they will take are of your roster. If you have any problem using the files just ask and I will help you.

That's a problem caused by how the game resolves the control's imput. Maybe I could fix it reverting to 2K13 spin shot's trigger. I'll try to fix it when I get my hands bak on my 2K14 copy.

It's funny you mention that, just before release, the patch included that animation, but I decided to change it at the last minute because I felt it was somewhat exaggerated. Instead I put an old LeBron's fadeaway. Anyway, it's very easy to put LeBron's current fadeaway back as a shot base. I'll do it.

I had to modify some parameters to adapt the shot and that led to that hitch, but that could be fixed.

KwiLL23 wrote:How can I get this to work for Xbox 360?

As info-0 said this patch doesn't work on consoles.

Maximus89 wrote:There is a small hitch on every shot almost it seems, nothing that bothers me though. And it doesn't happen every time either.

Didn't that happen before? This year they decided to add a transition animation that makes a player do a little turn when going to shoot, and that's the cause behind that hitch that occurs sometimes. (The old kobe shot base I mentioned before is a different case because that transition is now bit more exaggerated and needs some additional parameters to be adjusted)

hello gamez, i love all of your hard work and dedication to making excellent animation jumpshots and can you add Karl Malone mail man dunk back to the game :D

Re: Animation Patch

Sun Mar 02, 2014 7:37 am

gamez no problem mate. Trying to get many more people involved into NBA editing or modding community is always best I guess. I know a lot of modders from other communities who I want to convince (but so far, it's quite hard haha :D).

I have a question though, I don't know how ball moves in NG version, but there is definitely spin animation when ball is bouncing. I wonder if the ball is therefore separate object or is it just animated object. If it's the latter would it be possible to convert to PC? It would make game much more lifelike. ;)

phpBB [video]

It's here in this trailer, but it definitely looked like anim object than separate ball with own physics attached ;). Fingers crossed it's convertable then.

Re: Animation Patch

I am in a loss of words, man.

I assume this does not effect release timing and I'll be able to see this even online, yes?

Thank you! I could add Malone's mail man dunk, but I have yet to decide how to resolve that .exe editing thing (well, the problem is sharing the .exe, editing it it's not really a problem)

During my investigation I think I've found some ball animation section, but I don't know if it controls ball's spin. I'll look into it. (I'm always saying that I'll look into something but I'm on a travel and I don't have the game with me)

Thanks! I haven't tried the patch online so I don't know if it works properly.

Re: Animation Patch

forgot to ask this earlier so is it possible also to add/replace signature dunks? (Just like back in NBA Live when you can add dunks from the old versions and compile it to the new one)

Yes, it's possible. I want to investigate a bit more, but I've already proven that it can be done in my preliminary dunk editing research.

If only you can take Steve Nash shooting form from the free throw line into a standard shooting form then it would be awesome

Thanks for the animation patch gamez. Just a stupid question, where do I find the RED MC script folder where I'm suppose to put the turk files? Thanks again.
