Blacktop Mode is going to be where this mod really shines. Thanks to JaoSming, my base roster has all players unlocked for Blacktop Mode. Up to ten different players (including stars of the past and hopefully NCAA players too) on the court in ten different street apparel uniforms, combined with Jao's tremendous atmosphere, and ultimately the little tweaks like a street ball, chain net, etc. should really create what feels like a much different game than the typical NBA 2K experience. I'm super enthusiastic about it, and I'm thrilled to see other people are interested as well.

Thought:

Given how awesome these are to play with in Blacktop Mode, I'm starting to wonder if it's best suited to concentrate the entire roster towards exclusivity in that mode. What's that mean? Well in plain English it doesn't mean I need to specifically group teams together. I have more latitute to build a team full of similar-type players that would be unlikely to be selected for the same team in Blacktop Mode (think, pass-first PGs or Defensive Big Men), and really pull more of recent decade Superstars and Legends into the mix. Give each player their Peak Ratings. Even still have multiple versions of the same guy (like a young Lebron, young afro'd Kobe, young high flying K-Mart, Richard Jefferson, etc.)

Again, this doesn't derail all of the visual work that has been done. And it doesn't mean starting over from scratch. I've still got a ton of re-rated players, which I'll continue to use. The only change would be the formulation of the rosters, and that this would be a Blacktop Mode exclusive project.

Looking For:

CFs for the 2000's and 1990's players not included in the default 2K game (and better versions of those who are). If you have any or know of anybody I can ask for permission to use, please post here or PM me. (Y) Taking things in a different direction here, and I think it will ultimately be much more fun for everyone.

bigh0rt, The reason your shirts still look somewhat like they have a jersey texture, is because you have the jersey/wrinkle shadows on the shirts in photoshop

I didn't think that the texture had the grainy texture to them. I see the wrinkles and shadows, which is fine. Right now I'm content with how they're coming out and looking in-game. Thanks again for your help with the green layers. Really helped me a ton. (Y) (Y)

PS - Time to give your HS Mod an actual name. It's coming along too well to still be called 'Generic Highschool Mod'

Okay, with the Retro/Stars/Legends, what I've decided to do is that if a player is still currently playing at a high or very high level (think: Rose, Wade) and don't have any real distinguishable visual differences, I kept them just in the current roster(s). If a player is still in the league, but a shell of what they were in the 2000s (Vince Carter, Shawn Marion, Kenyon Martin, Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, Grant Hill, Chauncey Billups, et al), I've included them in the 2000s position teams. There are very few repeated players between current and 2000s (I believe it's only Lebron with his young look, Kobe with his mini-fro, and Tim Duncan), and the only player who is currently in both their respective 90s and 00s group is Shaquille O'Neal. Kevin Garnett may get the double treatment due to being a shell of his former self, but still a pretty somewhat relevant NBA player. I'm sure I'm not going to please everybody, and I'm cool with that. Re-shuffling the players by type has definitely been beneficial for me, and has made Blacktop Mode easier and more fun to construct different teams within.

Here's what I've got thus far... let me know of any glaring missing guys from any group (again, if you say a guy like Rose who is already included in a normal current roster piece, I've already explained why he is there and only there...):

Should be releasing a Beta Roster with a new Uniform Pack to go with the Roster (featuring most of the shirts from the preview a few posts up) some time tomorrow. It's raw, and ugly, but I need feedback on the ratings, Signature shifts, and the overall game play in Blacktop Mode. So, tomorrow should be a release to at least get the ball rolling. (Y)

Anyone willing to lend a hand via either creating, or pointing me in the direction of already made so I can ask for permission, CFs, I know many have been made, but I'm having trouble fully locating them. I am searching for the following...

Young Ray Allen: (with hair)
Nets Era Vince Carter
Nets Era Jason Kidd: (with Goatee)
Sonics Era Rashard Lewis
Nets Era Kenyon Martin: (with hair)
00s Era Tim Duncan: (with mini-fro and beard)
Ben Wallace (with Afro)
Pacers Era Jermaine O'Neal (with braids)
Yao Ming
Kings Era Chris Webber (with hair)
Suns Era Shawn Marion (with hair)
T'Wolves Era Stephon Marbury (or Knicks with ridiculous face tattoo)
Also Peja Stojakovic, Steve Francis, Magic Era Tracy McGrady, mini-afro Kobe Bryant, Michael Redd, Reggie Miller, young Lebron James, young Chauncey Billups, Gilbert Arenas, young Grant Hill...

I want to include all of these players, and more. I know there have been great CFs that have been made that should be easily accessible. I found many of the 90's stars, but the guys from the more recent 00's seem to be tougher. If anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. (Y)

Also, I know I said Beta yesterday, but probably actually today. Depends what kind of time I get after work and tutoring. (Y) (Y)

viewtopic.php?f=149&t=89150 may have some extras
viewtopic.php?f=149&t=89033 may have some extras
all his conversions have the "There is no need to ask for permission to use this download in your own mods, patches or........."

Check the viewtopic.php?f=154&t=92751 list too, see if there are any other official extras from 2K. Like C-Webb from the removed Kings team and such

For those interested in getting an early look at a very real roster, and getting an early peek at my newest uniform creations, here is the NBA Pickup League Beta file. There's extra guys on teams, guys who still need to be placed, 90's and 00's stars who need to be created and added. The list goes on, and on. Still, I'm looking for feedback. Feedback on ratings, feedback on anything.

Started to work the very beginning stages of an NLSC themed outdoor court (NLSC Park, let's call it) and environment banners to pair with this mod. Should hopefully post some very basic file previews sometime today. (Y)

For those who have downloaded and tried out the roster and uniforms, looking for any and all feedback. How are the ratings? How does it play in Blacktop Mode? What would you like to see? Obviously changes like the accessory colors, tightening up who's on what roster, etc. need to be done, and will, but I'm looking for anything beyond that that I may have possibly overlooked.
