gamez wrote:I will release the new animations in the next version of the patch... which will be published when it's finished.

I have been busy doing some things, like making some changes to Dirk's shooting form, following the suggestions I lowered the shooting hand's release angle and his off hand goes down quicker. He jumps forward but just a bit, very slighty, and I could lower his jump if he jumps so high now, but I don't think is necessary I like how it looks right now.

Image

I have made some changes in Carmelo Anthony's shot too. He doesn't squat for so long and I made the release quicker (in the preview the shot timing is set to normal) putting down his hands right after the shot.

Image

I have changed Curry's sig shot, too

Image

And I'm revising other signature shots so don't hesitate to propose any change, I have all of them in account (videos, animated gifs, or shooting forms and bases suggestions are welcome, pictures aren't all that helpful).

I'm busy adding removed layups from older games, too

Image

(Now I'm working on expanding some of the layup packages -to put the removed Jordan's layups in Jordan package as example- or maybe adding some new packages, I'll see if it works...)

And I've fixed that annoying hitch problem (I know that they added a transition animation that makes a player turn sometimes before the shot to face the basket, but I didn't have it into account when making some animations, now I have fixed it)

About my patch and rosters... As I said before I provide everything needed to adapt any roster, and doing it takes less than a minute. I think this is the best way because I don't want to limit the player to one roster, anyone can take any roster and adapt it to this patch. I don't want to make this patch very intrusive in roster files, that's why I give two turk files and not only one, if you only use "Sig Shots Adapter" your roster will have the same animations it had before installing the patch (except for some shooting forms removed completely) because I don't want to force anyone to my personal taste (that's why I try to keep most of the default animations), then if you want to assign some of the new animations automatically you can use "Sig Shots for the Stars", but only if you want. I let people choose what they prefer, and I think that's for the best. So, use your favorite roster and use my patch on it if you want :D

And now I'll continue with my work, thank you all for your support! :D

The Dr. J layup would be great. (Y) I really missed them in the New Game.

Hey guys is this patch compatible with online mode, should I patch it on latest 2k roster?

Ortho wrote:Hey guys is this patch compatible with online mode, should I patch it on latest 2k roster?

I don't play online, but I don't think any roster changes can be applied to the official roster for online matches. You could still install the files, but several players would have mixed up sigs because you can't use roster edits online. However, the "stars" with their own sig shots would have the patch applied correctly.

When will these updates are come out?

So if I only overwrite the siganims_generic.iff file without applying other files in roster I could still play both online and offline?

The Dirk sig shot is perfect to me. This is an amazing work

The Curry's current sig shot looks very good as well (Y)
Just a little things that need to be altered:
1. Would love to see Curry to dip the ball a little bit lower (close to the stomach area)
2. His shot base needs to be narrower, in the preview it is almost shoulder width
3. The turn is not very clear here. Curry's shot has a 10 o'clock turn so it would be best to get his right foot turn a little more

Also, as a VC fan would love to see your update in his sig shot as i mentioned before.
For Vince Carter, putting his shooting hand closer to right shoulder and speed up the wrist flicking motion like Durant does. Also, let his feet sway foward a liitle bit more.

Thank you :D I'll make some changes on Curry's shot base when I have time and Vince is still a work in progress, but I'm working on it, don't worry :D

info-0 wrote:My dear gamez you amaze me every time :D.

If you bring those layups back... It will be superb game beasting even NG ;).

Well, I've already adapted all Jordan's layups, the problem is assigning them to his layup pack (and getting room in the iff file, of course) but I'm working on it :D

bhilogy wrote:I am really impressed with this work! hope you can add all of your works to the upcoming Med's roster! :)

just a question: are you also planning to add dunk animations?

Thanks :D The problem with dunk is that they're assigned in the .exe file, editing the .exe could be difficult itself but the main problem is that new dunks can only be assigned removing existing dunks. So, for now, adding new dunks is not in my plans. But if I find another way...

Kevmire wrote:How about one of the best three point shooters the past couple years Jose Calderon. I believe the Lamar Odom Animation from 2K11 is almost spot on. Just a suggestion!

I remember using that sig shot for Calderon too. If I have room in the iff file I will bring back that shot.

Rosque wrote:gamez, can you add dribble(not replace, but add) animations from NBA 2K10? They were perfect and there were a LOT of them.

Can you bring back the MJ one hand ball fake?

Assigning dribbling animations need the .exe to be edited too and so it's not possible to add new entries, the only thing that can be done is removing. Anyway I still have some research to do regarding dribble animations.

Can you bring back Allen Iverson's free throw signature into 2k14? please
you can find Iverson's free throw in 2k11

If you don't have 2k11, here is Iverson free throw video
2k11 makes his free throw like 2001~2009
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cjy9LIyVc8

Thanks for appreciating my work :D

I'm having some problems adapting some olders animations and Iverson's free throw is one of that troublesome animations. But i'll continue working on it.

Quintero wrote:The Dr. J layup would be great. (Y) I really missed them in the New Game.

And I'm working on adding more layups :D I still want to do a lot of things, so I don't have a release date.

thelegend23 wrote:nice job (Y) can you also make sig shot for Penny? thanks! :D

If I have space in the .iff file I'll see...

Ortho wrote:Hey guys is this patch compatible with online mode, should I patch it on latest 2k roster?

I haven't tried playing online, but I don't think is compatible, sorry. Furthermore, if you overwrite siganims_generic.iff file and don't adapt your roster you'll see a lot of players with incorrect animations, so I don't suggest doing that.

Re: Animation Patch

gamez, do you have a list of your Sig Shot Adapter? In case we want to apply it manually specially in Draft Classes/Association Mode. I only have the free version of the REDMC, so I can't open those kinda files.

In Adaptation Sheet.pdf you have a table of equivalences.

Thanks man :D I'd really love to add new dunk animations, but the limits on .exe editing doesn't give me freedom to add things at my will.

Hi Gamez, first off I just want to say that your work is incredible. I haven't downloaded anything for months. I thought I've reached a point in which I'm satisfied enough with my game to not want to download anymore mods because at this point there's nothing really groundbreaking anymore that will make the game more fun, but your mod forced me to do so:)
Thank you so much.

I have some questions.
Does adding new layup packages also require editing the .exe file as well? If yes, what about adding new layup animations (like the older 2k ones that you were talking about) onto an existing package? Example: A (old 2k11) Jordan layup package with Jordan Crawford's one special layup (which incidentally would be the coolest thing ever in a 2K game, lol) or something like that?

I suppose my overall question is also: Would it be possible to add any new individual animation packages at all for layups, dribble moves, hookshots, etc. without modifying the .exe?
If not, would it be possible to add animations from older NBA 2ks into existing packages?

I'm glad you'are enjoying the patch. Thank you :D

To answer your questions, some animations like dunks, dribblings, fakes and general player movement are configured in the .exe file, so even if I replace an animation in the .iff file, editing the .exe is needed to set up the new parameters properly, if you don't do that the animation won't behave properly. So, with this animations editing the .exe is always required, and you have to dismiss other existing animations because you can't add new animation entries in the .exe file.

But layups and shot are a different case, and is kind of funny that you ask about this because a few days ago I've found how to add new shooting entries, and this means that now I can add new shooting forms, bases, free throws, hook shots and any kind of shot entry to the game. This could make a player have more than one shot too, but the problem is the room in the .iff file, and that's why I haven't exploited this new discovery yet, but the advanced .iff support of the next RED MC could help me a lot with this problem, so expect some great things when this tool is released... With layups I still have problems because I haven't found how the packages are defined, right now, as layups are not configured in the .exe, I can modify existing packages properly but I can't add new elements and that's something I'm looking for: expanding layup packages and adding new ones.

gamez, This Melo jumpshot is beautiful. The release you've made in the preview I believe is perfect. The shot base also looks good but I think if you got Derrick Rose's shot base from 2k11 and made it as Melo's in the update, with that Rose shot base and your updated Melo release, it would look absolutely perfect. When will you release update? Great Job man

I agree. If you implement the Rose 2k11 shot, It might be better since in real life Melo starts his shots with his feet closer together I believe.

Hi Gamez,
does your great mod work with Med's Ultimate Roster v1.0 BETA?

Re: Animation Patch

Wed Apr 16, 2014 3:59 am

This patch is going to be awesome. I'm currently using the beta that was released a little while ago and i love it.

One question though: is there any possibility of a tutorial on how all this magic is happening? I'd love to mess around and import some of my prefered animations from games past. I understand this might be too tall an order though.

Can't wait for the next release!

Hey guys!! Just found a great shooting motion for Steph Curry!! It looks fluid in-game, his release, even his slight bend head to the right...worth to give a try!!! Release : normal or quick (i'm using normal, because quick it looks more like his wide open jumpers. Normal release give a little air to his jumper) Shooting form: 71 Release: G Wallace . Right now i'm using Gamez update! Gamez pls give a look, maybe you like it too!
