1024x1024, the highest resolution center logo in the game

Re: • Texmod floors • NEED HEX EDITORS

Sun Oct 27, 2013 7:30 am

For learning purpose I took Pelicans court by Mythbuster. Deleted all data from it.
It had 1024px textures in it which I imported to pc

I have scaled all those textures twice to 2048x2048 (I was lazy to create my own HD textures).

Now there are plenty of 2048px textures which are not overlaping.
"Road-Block" is almost cracked.

Here is a file to check with NBA2Kx Md tool how niceliy all those big textures fits in one file.
fxxx.iff file size is 30 MB !

Within this method (hex size editing as shown today and spacing calcultion (just learned)) I can succesfully import 4096 px textuyres without any problems what I will try later
Sure I will share "HOW TO\\" as soon as will find strenghts to write everything on paper.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/md5nvk file to check if interesting

:)
The only problem left is that those textures are not displayed in the game. All black court.
This is what I will begin to look at.

Yep, this is the big one though. Just saying, Leftos and I dedicated ourselves to this for a good week or so and only got to the point you are at now. Fingers crossed you find something we didnt.

At least will try.

This is my first day with fxxx.iff files... can you please explain a little bit about BMP file that is the file (or a link to read).
For what that BMP is responsible.

And do I understand correctly that idea is to enlarge center filed logo to field size with 4096px ??
Or.,.. what is the target?

the bmp file controls the reflections, which get wonky with these 1 texture floors anyway. 4096 would be ideal (as the max), but any bump would be good.

OK, thanks.

I think I understood the problem with All Black Court.
Just theoreticly. Now must test physicly :)

So far a partial success.
Centre logo is true 2048x2048 texture.

Re: • Texmod floors • NEED HEX EDITORS

strangly enough, you already won. Since more than half of that is showing up, using the top half would give us 2048x1024 which would still be an awesome boost than what we have now.

So even if you can't get it to show up completely, that is already an amazing and useful result

Ya, that requeres a lot of tweaks and testing, all this weird pixels should be remved.
Will try for 4096 with new file

Definitely will try that

fantastic!

The stretching is easy to do, now that I know R4zoR's secrets on it (there is no secret, back when I tried doing it I just made it too complicated.)

I have never installed Texmod yet and have no idea how it works (will take a look later), but if logo can be resized, I will resize it to full floor size.

the same..never used and installed textmod. the r4zor method no need texmod, it's a method that use the normal iff file. if you find a way to resize the texture on iff court file I think can be applied also to r4zor method

We are still invading your thread.
When it will be enough just say and we move :) Thanks for patience

I think I am heading in right direction.
Resizing is not problem.
Had some successes with 4096px images

In the picture 2048 image ( do not pay attention to the lines, etc, - testing mode)

BTW i wiil not create any courts.
Just will finish to crack the system and share tutorial

So we have a some progress with image quality,
If as you said we had earlier 1024 x 1024 = 1.048.576 total px/per image, so in above images we see total 3.145.728 px total
(don't pay attention to image stretching (aspect ratio) - testing mode).
That is exactly x3 times boost

P.s. fo some unrecognized reason I can't get more than >3 mln px total yet

what if we want to edit just the parquet size to make it hd, have you figured that out?

Paint complete basketball court in PS or other graphic editor and impport staright to the game (it also has some influence if user/modder want to use hisr own game lines (3pt, etc.) or generic by the game). But generally 1 pic for complete court.

In general this is 1:1 to R4zor method ( i saw a video 3 min ago for the first time about R4zor method on utube and happy to say he made a very nice job, congrats to him). Did not copy him just followed logically all circumstances and came to the same end end.

Reading your question again, I can answer that there is no difference which and hww many textures to enlarge. You may easily resize only parquet quality.
