So I assume I chose the wrong options on the DDS menu in GIMP. exrxixxx, what options did you choose on the DDS menu in GIMP when you were creating the scoreboards?

Image size (or canvas size) has to be 3072x1536 pixels in your case.
Oncrease image size (canvas size) or start wth new documents 3072x1536 pixels.

Try to google for Image editing for begginers or sth like that to help you out

Importing new picture over mine is just only 1 % of jobs to be done.
The rest has to me made via hex-editing.
Given the fact that even the picture you made can be valued 0 from 10, I do not see the necessity to dig larger hole.
Simply you are not ready yet imo

7 months gone since NBA2K14 release. For me this is enough. Most likely I will not make anything more for the game.

This kind of question is more suitable to understand each other imo, rather than "write tutorial", which will not give you anything good (judging from HD Flood texture tutorial, which only 2-3 people understood, and it was pretty simple stuff comparing with scoreboard making).

Ask "step by step" questions, I will try to answer if possible.

1- I do not use Gimp for image editing,
I use Adobe Fireworks.

I use Gimp only to conver PNG to DDS

2- Google for logos
