I just started a new assoc with only default teams to make sure I can sim the season. At the all star game, if you choose to play the game, it goes to the start screen showing ease vs west and then CTD when you try to advance to play the actual game.

If you choose to only simulate the game, it will give you the result as it would with a normal game and advance to the next day.

I remember this being an issue in last years roster also, that you could only simulate the all star game or it would CTD.

This is not the big problem right? This is NCAA so we dont need east/west game, but to be honest, maybe its not the worst idea to remove all star game from schedule.

No, the east west game is not the big problem at the moment, it is the ctd trying to play/simulate a game with non 30 teams added to the association.
I personally did not play the east west game in my association last year, so would not miss it if the game was removed. If it is an issue to remove it from the game, and is left on the schedule, as long as you only simulate the game, it will not cause any problems in an association.

No worries about non regular 30teams, its fixed already, Hort will probably release fixed roster soon. It was easy fix but for sure its not lookin good in game. I will try to find different way but for now its all we got. If Hort release fixed roster, please make test for one non regular team in asso mode, simulate and see what will happen. If its good, test other teams.

Big, I'm Working on new cleaned up version of the Logos_ large, medium, small and tiny. About half way through right now. I'll shoot them to you when I complete them. There is something messed up with Oklahoma somewhere it will not pull anything up in the team selection screen. I even loaded the default logos and oklahoma is still blank while all other teams had the NBA logos behind them. Wonder if it come from the roster file somewhere?

I want your work easier, create only large_logos and later simply duplicate and rename large into medium,small,tiny. There is no need to create all files. That way you will be sure all logos will be the same everywhere, no place for mistake.

Yes that would be easier but it might cause an issue somewhere down the line. Because the pixel size of each logo in each one is different. The large is 512, the medium (team selection screen) is 256, small is 128 and tiny is 64. I figure they are arranged this way for a reason but not positive. So far I have not seen any issues when just replacing the medium.

Exact same setup for the asso with roster 8 with the exact same CTD issue at the non 30 scheduled game

are all the records tabs set to -1 ? I checked in game for the non 30 team in the asso using roster 8 and the team records are blank. Last year the in game team records all listed names for each record.

So you can follow what I am saying, Duke is a default 30 team. In their screenshot all records are filled in in game on the record tab. All the default teams are like this.

Villanova is a non 30 team and was last season also.

The Villanova screenshot with all the names filled in for each record is from last years roster. This was resolved last year with the -1 for the records tab in your editing program (the Hawk PM).

Don't know if that is the issue, but this years rosters are showing up differently in the records tab than last years roster that did not CTD with non 30 teams in the asso.

Same issue. I used Villanova again.

Did you manually fill in the records ? if so, it did not work. I checked Villanova's in game team record tab and they were still all blank. It was my understanding from doing this last year that the -1 setting is what allowed the game to auto fill in the records. I think it reads the NBA team that is associated with that NCAA team and uses the NBA records but fills them in with NCAA names from that corresponding NCAA teams roster.

So if that is how it works, you may have to set all the records tabs to -1 for each team like last year and let the game fill in the names.

Exactly. This is very frustrating because the issue always was trying to add non 30 teams to the asso. that was resolved. we did not have the CTD when using them in the game like we are now.
We did not have the CTD adding the teams to asso mode. The records tab may not be the cause of the CTD trying to sim with non 30 teams.
I would suggest going back to the settings prior to roster 10. at least the first part is working fine to add teams to asso mode with those settings.

Okay, I started a new asso using test roster v7 that had worked fine when I would add a non 30 team.
Still get a CTD when you simulate the non 30 teams game in the schedule. But, this is the weird part. If I choose to actually play the game with the non 30 team, not simulate it, it works fine and I can play the game. When I quit and selected sim to end of game, it CTD.
The CTD issue with a non 30 team only occurs when simulating their game.
There is no issue simulating default teams games on the schedule, it is just the non 30 teams game that will CTD if you sim it.
Hopefully that info can help the roster guru's to try and resolve the problem.

I just saw this and got on it right away.

Okay here we go with the test results.
Started asso with one non 30 team. simmed all games up to the non 30 teams game no problem. Decided to play the non 30 game to test as before with quiting and simming to end of game. NO CTD when sim to end of game.

Simulated from the schedule screen the next game for the non 30 team. NO CTD

I think we may have a winner !

I changed non 30 team in new asso with no CTD simming their game.
I will create a asso with tons of non 30 teams to test but do not expect any issues based on my tests so far today.

No more banging my head on the wall after setting everything up to have it all crash during the tests I hope

Update:

I created an asso with all 23 current non default teams ( holding my breathe when I added each one hoping no CTD) with the remaining 7 spots default teams.

I simulated the entire season with no CTD.

At the setup screen for your association:

Control all 30 teams ( you can just play as one team , but this will prevent the CPU from trying to adjust the remaining teams rosters)
29 game schedule
NO CPU trades
NO Injuries (there are no F/A 's in the game to fill out rosters if needed)
1 game playoffs

That setup worked fine for my association last year
