I don't think that any shoes in the game worked in three colors(most working only in two colors).
Even if i set three colors on texture ,one will be grey.Probably the fault of the different formats.
Default 2K is RGBA and my own texture is RGB (like most released shoes).
...even if i copy that color,it will not work
How about 
I use NBA 2K14 shoe system to create his shoe and I overwrite to my own edited XX8 SE.
