I really wouldn't count on it happening anytime soon. Truly a bizarre (and unfortunate) exit from the community. I think our best bet is someone having it in their archives, and so far, no luck on that front.

I'm not optimistic after those posts. He's certainly welcome to return as long as he's not coming after everyone like that, but it wasn't encouraging to see him say that stuff.

I have the mod and season files, but I don't have the download packs. Usually I keep the packs together in my archives, but I was probably running out of space then, which is not a problem now.

Thanks Rich! Unfortunately yeah without the graphic packs, the presentation mod, the soundtrack, etc the rosters themselves are essentially useless and not compatible with the default folder.

SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE still has this..its just amatter of reaching out tot hem, and them being willing to share it with us all.

I found the RayHoops 90s mod Jukebox. Its like we are rebuilding a Frankenstein monster version of this mod, we are just missing the body right now. "Its Alive, Its Alive!"

@spree, thank you so much for keeping this in your archive and re-uploading!

i forgot how great this mod was and stll is. i don't want to compare it to urb/ubr, since it's not fair, but i must point out some things that this mod stands up in all its greatness:

- all top players have their signature accessories, i was stunned seening reggire miller with his signature "#31" finger bands, penny with his sigunature "#1 penny" elbow band (same as kevin garnett), and all other hall of fame players;

- signature shoes;

- presentation is fabolous, along with menus and transition screens;

- scoreboard is amazing;

- season look cfs like extra addition to reality;

- specific arena dornas are beautiful;

- 90s crowd;

- great looking "spalding" nba ball;

- global.iff is the best retro global i tested for 2k14.

@ray, i know you are reading this, thank you again for this amazing "mini" retro mod, hope to see you soon and to continue with this!


p.s. to all who want to try this mod, use roster files provider by @rich, since they v2, @spree had v1.

Thank you spree for these files. I am checking this out now. The question I have is for the retro shoes. I'm not sure if I installed it right. I tried putting the files in the app data shoe directory but nothing seemed to change. Then I tried putting them in the main nba 2k14 directory and only a handful of retro shoes showed up (adidas superstars and some chuck taylors). Neither shoes very 90's in my opinion. The retro shoe download has over 1,100 files so seems like it would have more shoes than what I see. Could anyone shed some light on how the shoes are supposed to be installed and what is supposed to show up? Thanks in advance!

Having the same issue

try putting shoes files that start with numbers into "users/username/appdata/roaming/2ksports/shoes" folder.

If the shoe files end in ".iff" then they belong in the main 2K folder.

correct @rich, but i was talking about shoes files without .iff file extension, they are just a buch of numbers files. they go to the path i mentioned.
