Pretty cool idea! The teams that wouldn't make sense would be Kobe and Dirk. Kobe would've went a overseas and the Mavs would drafted Dirk at 6 if the Bucks didn't want to do it, but hey do whatever you want lol

What doesn't make sense about it? I know there was a deal in place between Dallas and Milwaukee, it's just a hypothetical scenario in which Milwaukee instead of trading Dirk, just keep him around, which in heinsite they propablly wish they did.

Both Kobe scenarios were very close to actually happening, since I dont know which one you mean, the 1996 Draft one is obviously one of the worst decisions by an NBA team ever. The Clippers one was very close to happening as well.

practically there are countless what if:
in 1956 if Celtics wouldn't give Mcaulley to Hawks Starting Five :Martin,McMahon,Naulls,Pettit,Russell

There's actually a little problem with this one; Pettit was also under contract with the Celtics, he was in the army before joining the NBA that year, and was put in the trade by Auerbach to get Russell in the first place. So either you get Russell on the Hawks without Pettit, or you go with the scenario that Pettit didn't get traded with Mcauley, so Pettit and Russell end up on the 56-57 Celtics.

How about Boston getting Duncan in 97 Draft? 2 Lottery picks in Billups and Mercer, but Pitino just missed out on a new Celtic dynasty.

I know it's a different what if, but could be an interesting team. (Walker, Billups?, Duncan)

Actually, there is a problem with 2003-04 Pistons.

By the time when Milicic was drafted instead of Carmelo, Rasheed was still playing at Blazers. The trade of Wallace wouldn't even be done too.

Hmmm....well not really. If I remember correctly, the Pistons traded Cliff Robinson to Atlanta for Sheed, right? Would they have made that trade if Militic or Melo panned out that year? Probaly not, but hey, when you think of the 03/04 Pistons, Sheed has to be on there. It's just soooo much fun to play with this team. I see your point, and it's a good one, but for the benifit of having more fun, I'll just keep the team the way it is

This is an interesting trade that got called off at the very last minute. Could have given Houston's late 90s big 3 one more push:

Hey man one possibility can be Miami's 2014 Final's roster with the addition of Carmelo Anthony which would make the roster - Bosh/Melo/James/Wade/Chalmers
And thats would make a really fun team to play with

Well that would be a future team, right? For the upcomming season? So that would be very hard to do, since we don't know 1. How good is Wade gonna be next season 2. Who would have resigned in terms of role players/supporting cast. So I'll leave it off for now, maybe will add it later.

Speaking of the 84 Rockets, theres just as much chance the Rockets would have passed on Jordan with Drexler already at the 2 and drafted Barkley instead making their old late 90s 3some play their whole careers from the start which sounds cooler to me than just throwing Jordan on the Rockets.

I had a couple of these on my list prior to starting the roster. Kobe Bulls, MJ Clipps and Kemp Bulls. All 3 of those I left out, because the teams that result from that are just gutted. Iverson to the Pistons in 2000 I'll look into. Sir Charles for Worthy fells like a gutted team to me as well, 1992/93 Lakers? Do you think that would be a fun team to play with Barkley on the team?

Now Pippen for McGrady to the Bulls is very intriguing. I'll look into this one too.

maybe you have read something wrong about Pettit!He was drafted by Hawks in 1954 and he played full 3 years before 1957 season!
the trade was Mcaulley and Hagan for Bill Russell so theres no possiblility of Pettit at the Celtics (I am Celtics fan).Hagan was in the military for 2 years

Rasheed Wallace was traded with Wesley Person to Atlanta Hawks for Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Theo Ratliff and Dan Dickau.

Then in a multi-team trade, he was traded to Pistons when Pistons traded Zeljko Rebraca and Bob Sura to Hawks. Also Mike James was traded to Pistons from Celtics. Lindsey Hunter and Chucky Atkins were traded to Celtics.

Just a random thought. But, a cool WHAT IF project could be a roster with reversed eras. For example, The old retro players have grown and developed in the modern day of basketball. We can have Wilt, Russel, West, Baylor, Oscar, Kareem, Barry, etc with modern day haircuts, accessories and possibly tattoos depending on personality. Proper modern day heights since most players were listed barefoot heights back then. Perhaps add weight since todays players start weight lifting quite young, etc. Todays stars could be added to retro teams as if they had already played their careers. You can remove all tattoos from players and give guys like LeBron a hilarious balding fro and others hairstyles from the 60's and 70s. Give them their barefoot heights as well and a lot less muscle and weight.

A different dimension.

Or it could be draft classes with the stars of yesteryear modernized making fresh entrance into the NBA.

Like i said, just a fun thought.

With the BIG DRAFT - Olajuwon, Bowie, Jordan - we keep talking about the Blazers taking Jordan with #2, but what if the coin toss had come up Blazers instead of Rockets - Blazers pick Olajuwon and move Thompson to PF and Rockets then take Jordan with #2 pick - both moves would have mixed things up and probably meant another title for Blazers as they were already a powerhouse and it wold have been interesting to see Jordan and Sampson together with Sampson staying at C rather than PF and not getting injured.

Hey Chris, good to see you back involved . This was a great idea. I do have a suggestion, you should add Reggie Lewis to the 87-88 Celtics. He was a rookie for them that year after all. Him and Bias together is what would have kept the Celtics a powerhouse through the 90's if they both don't die. Also they would have helped extend Bird's career, he wouldn't have been so worn from longing so many minutes during those late 80's seasons.
