Supersample NBA2k14 - or why I don't need 2k15 yet (new better quality images)

First of all, this is not really a release, but I hope that the info in here will help some people to make their game look better. I've seen quite a few times people making globals or other graphic mods promising to give a look close to the next gen version. The game will look nothing close to the ng version with normal antialising (multisample).

In order to achieve a high quality image you need to supersample 2k14. Here come some screens:






And this is not the exact result you'll get in game because there is some downgrade due to jpg conversion, and web upload. The real image is much better. It's like rendering the image in a resolution higher than 1920X1080 and then lowering the resolution to fit your screen. I'll try to grab some better quality screens in the following days to display what kind of quality you can reach with supersampling.

Some better quality photos. Supersample 2X. I can even go to 4X but some cutscenes drop in FPS and I rather play in steady FPS.

You probably can't do SSAA on your machine very well. You enable it in nVidia Inspector, though.

Yes I'm using Sweetfx and global by SJ and lots of other mods (cyberfaces, jerseys, courts etc), but that's not the point, almost everyone who populates the 2k14 releases forums use these. Of course all these mods make a huge difference, but my post was in regards to supersampling.

Supersampling differs from normal multisample antialising. It renders the game in higher resolution and then shrinks the image to your monitor's native resolution.

You don't download supersampling... it's an option and you should be able to find it in your radeon or nvidia software. It's already enabled by default in some games (such as 2k15). I use it through radeonpro. It is heavier on resources though, so while I can have 8x multisampling, if I go over 2X supersampling the fps drops. However, 2x supersampling beats 8x multisampling by quite some margin in my opinion when it comes to picture quality.

Im using supersampling 4x but my anisotropic filtering is one notch down to 8X....far better than msaa...does it really override msaa in game? Cos ssaa and msaa are different....
