Mauroth Realistic Draft Classes: 2017 NEEDS YOU!

Postby mauroth on Tue Apr 01, 2014 3:44 am

Hi everybody,

For the third consecutive season I'm doing Draft Classes. If you played with Albys roster in NBA 2k12 and 2k13, then you know what I'm talking about. My draft classes are specifically made to match Albys' way of rating and tendencies. I can say I learnt from a legend and still I'm continuing sharing with him my works in order to get the best result.

I spent more 100 hours on this project not only working on the FDC files, but especially reading and watching hundreds of articles and videos. You want realism and accuracy? Here they are.

Each draft class features:

 80 REAL PLAYERS (also 2016 and 2017!!!)
 Accurate ratings and tendencies
 Accurate height and weights as of Draft Combine, Adidas Eurocamp and various Nike, USA...etc camps.
 As much CF as I found (help is much appreciated)
 Realistic potentials (also edited peak age and decrease age). There will be superstars (very very rare), all stars, starters, role players, crappy bench warmers. Don't trust just the starting overall. A senior has different potential compared to a raw but promising freshman/sophomore.

IMPORTANT:
As you well know, 2k IA when selecting during the draft is bugged. There are two possible solutions then:
 manipulate overalls in order to have a highly realistic draft selection -> very unrealistic on mid term
 Have the most accurate ratings, be aware that draft order will not be perfect, but totally enjoy the association long term

I go for the latter all day. So be aware of this. I don't want to see someone arguing that someone like Rodney Hood is chosen at 5 if that means giving him a <70 3pt rating. This is not realistic at all, so go for some other draft class if you really give all this relevance to the draft order selection inspite of accurate ratings.

UPDATED DRAFT CLASS 2014 v 3.5 - 2015 - 2016 VERSION 3.0

https://www.sendspace.com/file/ej3wlp

Here you find updated 2014 to 2016 draft classes as of 21-07-2014.

WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 3.0 ?

 Updated heights and weights for more than 150 prospects according to last months combines and camps from different brands and national teams
 Improved tendencies and animations
 Refined potential system to better fit with Albys roster
 Tons of new CFs
 Updated ratings according to new accurate scouting reports using advanced analytics from synergystats

To enjoy my draft classes, follow these steps:

1) download the link above, and put the RR 3.0 2014, 2015 and 2016 files in your saves folder. Put the CFs in your main 2k14 folder.

2) Open the included excel file and download the needed .iff files from Bamz draft class ( DOWNLOAD ), NCAA mod and King Mellow's draft classes.
Just follow the excel, I added a specific row with the origin of each CF.

If you love Lordstar's new cyberfaces, just rename the files according to the CF ID following the excel. (E.g. If Embiid has CF ID 4502, just rename his CF to png4502.iff)

3) Enjoy!!!

Credits: JunkYardDog (superb job with shot animations!) Albys, argo8830, Theanswer85, King Mellow, Bamz, Lordstar, Bigh0rt and all the Ncaa mod Team, Iron Mike, Mr Star. If I missed someone, just send me a PM :)

NEXT STEPS:
 Release 2017 draft class with 80 real players (95% done)
 Keep 2015 and 2016 draft classes constantly updated

I'M LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO HELP ME WITH CFs.

Both specific or look a like, if you have suggestions, please let me know!!!

you could ask aderito about the draft order. the prospects of bamz draft class, with aderitos ratings, are getting picked in the right order every time

I wrote above that accurate ratings > ideal draft order

I don't want to manipulate the ratings if this means having unrealistic ratings. It's a choice, I made up mine. Draft order last 5 minutes, while playing a full association usually takes a bit longer :)
In simple words, if a guy like Stauskas needs to have 3pt rating 70 instead of 80+ because otherwise he will be selected too high, I won't do this. Because there's no way Stauskas deserves such a low 3pt rating. Keep in my mind that is related to 2k bugged IA.
I hope I cleared myself.

Can't wait too to release :)

Actually you have in 2014:

Wiggins, Parker and Randle 76
Embiid, Smart and Exum 74

Keep in mind that the overall reflects 2k weights for each role. So you know that Parker will be much more polished than Wiggins offensively, but defense..ehm.. while the Canadian balances with elite athleticism and great defense. The other key skill is potential of course. Gary Harris and Embiid may have similar starting overalls, but look at them after 5 seasons and pray for not selecting Gary before than Joel :)

I don't care much about AI draft order because there will always be dumb GMs(see: MJ, Cavs, Wolwes etc..) and there will always be players that are overlooked(Mr.Irrelevant Isaiah Thomas, Parsons) and ther are always busts(Bennet...for now) and that's why it's realistic to have "screwed up" draft order.

I like that you don't have big overalls..almost every other draft class has overalls above 78 which is good starter and in 3 years that is a superstar player.

No, I'm not a CF maker. But any help on this is much appreciated. I'd love to have real CF for the top players in 2015 to 2017 draft classes.

Thanks. 78 is a very high starting overall. I would have given this to Wiggins if he had dominated the season as someone expected, maybe even a 79. But offensively he's too raw, so 76 is the right one at the moment.
Also, working on the peak and decrease age, I was able to reproduce pretty well the career for each prospect. Just for examples, pick Kobe and Allen Iverson. At their peak maybe the difference was slight. But Kobe is a real professional and didn't decreased until 34. Iverson on the other side after turning 30 fastly collapsed. In the same way, if a player bases his skills just on athleticism, you may expect that once turns 30, his career may fall down shortly. Or, if you pick a well developed senior with limited potential, his peak is very close, so probably you'll get the best from him in a couple of years.

I like that more skilled players like Kobe and Kareem will have longer primes. Can't wait for this + CAM's/MED's roster to start association with bad Laker team.

It's thought to perfectly fit with Albys roster, but the IDs are fine with Meds and UBR. You may even find them in UBR in the future, who knows :)

The roster father is going to release his masterpiece very very soon. And thanks to the advanced nba analytics now available...well, Albys strikes again

Can't you contact Bamz about his cfs? Or you can also release and credit them if they don't reply and credit them with big red writing

If Bamz, or anyone else, does not their work released by others (and Bamz specifically has already said no to several people, including UBR, so it is safe to say he does not want other Draft Classes using his faces), then no, he cannot. We encouraging pooling resources here, but I also understand putting a ton of time into something and then having someone else want to take the work and encourage others to download their work instead of the same exact mod you had originally released. If I were him I'd probably be in a similar boat. The faces are what sets his Draft Class apart from the others.

Re: Mauroth Realistic Draft Classes 2014-2017 | RELEASE BLOCKED

Postby mauroth on Thu Apr 03, 2014 3:54 am

Faces are very important, but they are just a part of the value of a draft class. That said, if they're available for a good purpose, why not allowing their use if it has good benefits for the community?

80 real prospects vs 45 makes a HUGE difference. Then we can discuss the single ratings, but this more subjective or roster related. Also, personally I appreciate Aderito's job. We may share a few different views, but I really respect the way he works, and he knows it.

Then again, we have a 65% done 2014 draft vs 100% complete 2014 and 2015. And 2016 and 2017 are coming. Why people are so jealous when this means something good for every user, especially since actually there's no other alternative? And why are they so jealous even if I'm providing 100% credit for what they made? They spent many hours on this? Well me too. Do we got to the point on racing on who has the "longest hours"?
I even got to the point to simply ask in the thread, hey just download Bamz pack and the CFs from Ncaa mod (just the CFs, to avoid everyone downloading 1,5gb with the risk of overwriting very importants files), but neither this solution came to a good end. I have no clue on what else should I do.
Apart from stopping the release.

Sorry for the outburst.
