Your first comment did sound a bit condescending. If that wasn't your intention, I'm sorry.
Still, the way the game handles the motivation of those rookies doesn't make too much sense. Even if the "play for winner" or "financial security" property is set to "extremely important", there's no way the player's motivation should be at zero. It will only start to improve veeery slowly during the season. Role changes have no effect once the motivation is that far down.
Also, when I check the players at the time of the draft, their status is already "upset" or "fed up".
The thing here is, I can't get RED MC to work on my new PC. It can't be installed properly, because some of the game files are rejected by my system because of some kind of virus signature (which obviously isn't legit). I tried deactivating my anti-virus software and toned down my security settings, still nothing. I would definitely love to check those things myself.
I have formed this crazy idea that maybe the rookies in Hawk's Retro draft classes are somehow registered by the game as regular players. Maybe that is why the rookies cannot be scouted properly and are so fed up at the time of the draft. Because the game thinks they are regular players who haven't played a single minute the whole season. Could somebody maybe check if there's an attribute in the .fdc files (1996, for example) that could cause this kind of behaviour? I'm only trying to help and improve the awesome mod that is UBR, so any input here is highly appreciated.
