2k14 on a Wide format monitor

Postby JWL3 on Sun Aug 03, 2014 5:27 pm

One of the things that bothers me about 2k is that ingame, no matter how I adjust the cameras by zooming out (unless you use first person view), you never get a full screen of the entire court. This makes fullcourt passing kind of difficult as the receiver goes off screen; I like to leak out on defense as soon as I challenge the shot.

Does anyone game on a wide format monitor? These are ultra-wide aspect monitors beyond 4:3, 16:10, 16:9. The one I'm looking at here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 88_desktop

has a 21:9 ratio (2560 x 1080). Any idea if this will increase the amount of court space shown compared with my 16:9?

The ultra-wide format is fairly new. I wouldn't expect 2K14 to expand the fov properly.

Well...I am wrong, but it still doesn't look like what you want.

Yup, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks for the screenshot. It looks like a wide screen monitor won't fix my problem unless it's like a 25:1 ratio or something, haha. Although it does seem to cover a lot more court space.
I've always played with the middle camera view since NBA Live 95. Think it's called Broadcast? I hate the first person view because of the rotation as soon as possession changes. It's enough to give you motion sickness.

BTW, mad props for finding 2k displayed on exactly the monitor I'm talking about.
