Modding A Basketball

I've always wanted to make my first mod and I wanted to start off, small. lol. So I decided I wanted to mod a basketball! Yes, A BASKETBALL. I need help on how I could mod a basketball. I've went through the tutorials, but I don't seem to relate them to what I'm actually trying to find. So, will you bros help me and find a tutorial that will help me?

(I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post this " help in need ". But, I guess this could work..for now, lol).
