When starting association all players ages are +1

I know they said that after you installed V17 your date starts 1 year later so that would be 2014 but when i start association all player ages are +1 except the rookies that are created. Kevin Durant should be 26 years old but instead he is 27 etc. Can somebody help me out cuz i asked UBR on facebook and got blocked by asking this question.

How old are you this year? How old will you be next year? As a humans we age, and every year we get 1 year older. Durant was born in 1988. In 2014 he is 26. How old will he be in 2015?

You said the answer to your question yourself "your date starts 1 year later." The game doesn't have players age change on their actual b-day, it just advances their age at the start of each season.
