Is there a reason the game is able to pronounce certain 2014 draft class names?

I downloaded 2014 and 2015 draft classes, and both have been doing well in my association mode save. It seems that the commentator is able to pronounce Andrew Wiggins, Julius Randle and certain players names, but not for more strange names like Joel Embiid and Marcus Smart. I wonder though, why is it capable of pronouncing Andrew Wiggins? Is there a mechanism that determines what names they can pronounce? And is it even possible to add new names to the voice package so they can pronounce Joel Embiid instead of No.40?

There's a whole bunch of random names that are recorded. If they match the player you created it'll use that in that commentary.

Surprised Marcus Smart doesn't work.

I see, and is there a way to record other names? I think 2K should do something Microsoft does with their TTS software(like Microsoft Anna for Windows 7), in which it can pronounce every English word you type. I am sure its doable, and shouldnt be too difficult.

Actually, there are quite a few things that make it easier said than done. The technology obviously exists, but it's not without its faults and limitations, and getting it to work exactly how we'd want it - seamlessly integrated with pre-recorded names - doesn't seem feasible just yet.
