Online Team Matchup - Ballhogs rant

Can someone please explain to me the mindset of a ballhog? I don't quite get it. If you damn want to dominate the ball and chuck fadeaways against 3 defenders while I'm wide open under the rim, why not play match up? You can control 100% of the shots. Then there are the aholes who try to lag the game while you have the ball. People found out that if you alt-tab out of the game window, you can lag the rest of the players.

This last game, I waited patiently for these 2 user controlled dudes to pass to me. 5 possessions later, I finally got the ball from the cpu and bam, they try to lag me. Why? You do realize I can just stand on the other side of the court, not play D and ruin your entire game, right? That's what I would do rather than quit and let you have your way.

Selfishness and poor sportsmanship, basically. With the anonymity of the Internet, negative traits like that tend to come out and be amplified.
