Anybody here have experience doing the 3D cyberfaces in Blender?

I've seen the video on how to get everything loaded and whatnot. The fun part is, I don't really have much experience with Blender, letalone an outdated version. And I'd like to be able to create a cyberface of myself using pictures. I've been able to load the images in, but not how they should be to where I can model over them. And anytime the camera moves slightly the image disappears.
