Need Help Choosing Mods!

Mon Feb 24, 2014 12:08 pm

Hey guys, I'm relatively new to the NBA 2K modding scene. I've been reading and researching quite a bit both here and elsewhere, and I've even managed to help some of the modders here a little bit in some ways.
What I'm working on is downloading the best versions of the best mods for NBA 2K14 so I can take advantage of my powerful gaming PC I built, and I'm hoping my fellow members of this awesome community can help me find these gems our hard-working modders have developed for us.
Below I'll list the categories I can think of for said mods, and the mods I've chosen so far to use.
If anyone thinks of a new category, a better mod or version of a mod than one I currently have listed, etc., or maybe you just have some questions / comments / etc., feel free to post a reply here in the thread!

Global - seanjohn1414's Reign Global w/ SJ's New Skin Tones + lagoa v5 Body

ENB - Crystal Clear Photo Mod

Roster - HAWK23's Ultimate Base Roster + Medevenx's Ultimaste Roster

Cyberfaces - I think the other mods I have include a bunch of these, but I was just looking around and I managed to get my hands on a bunch of the HD Cyberfaces people are going bananas over from that Chinese site that is hard to get stuff from.

Jerseys - Up until now I assumed these were handled best by the mod(s) mentioned previously so I thought I couldn't do any better. However, I just found out about the work by some others, such as utp1985, and wow do his retro jerseys look good. Can anyone name some jersey packs / threads / creators / etc that I should look into, and if so, it would help if people could give their opinion on an order of quality, such as 1st best, 2nd, and so on. That way, if multiple releases are available of the same jersey, I'll have an idea of which to use.

Courts - stoeck's HD Arenas plus a bunch of Retro courts from various modders.

Dornas - So far what I have is the pack titled "NBA 2K14 All Teams & Euroleague Dornas V.2" which includes Dornas by Rudy084, Verminator, Sasha, and Sixers85. The only ones I didn't use from this pack were the ones that came with stoeck's arenas, as I thought it made sense to keep them together.

Shoes - So far I downloaded the two following packs: "Silence 2k14 Shoes Pack" & "NBA 2K14 Shoes Pack ESG-MLLR", plus four individual shoes by homicide1550 - LeBron X PS Elite (Andersen PE), Kobe 8 Red Tail Boa, Kobe 8 Purple Gradient, and AJ XX8 SE (R.Allen PE).
Is there any amazing shoe packs out there that aren't included in the mods I've already chosen?

Animations - gamez's Animation Patch

Presentation - I love these sorts of mods. Artwork and Audio files upon the actual game first loading, during the loading screen of each game, the scoreboard / ticker, cutaways, splashes, watermarks, halftime, end-of-game stuff, etc.
It would be really great if it were setup so that different games of a season were played on different channels, each with their own graphics and audio. I assume, however, that the game doesn't natively support multiple iterations of presentation-related files. However, this still may be possible via some outside interference if setup properly prior to playing. Maybe some sort of external program, or a batch file, or something else entirely. Either way, whether something like that is possible, or merely just one 'channel', I'd love some sort of HD, well-done, complete all-around setup for one of them. I've seen people using TNT, FOX, ABC, NBC, ESPN, CBS, TSN, NBA TV. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, as I find it to be one of the most important aspects of modding the game, since you see and hear these things so often.

In-game Arena Sounds / Music / Etc. - ? (Is there an arena sounds pack of some sort or something similar?)

Any help with any of this (or anything I forgot) is greatly appreciated!

I prefer SweetFX over ENB, personally.

www.mediafire.com/download/3c8d5degvv2gwn3

That's my slightly modified version of Jao's(I think it was his, anyways).

If you want to use this in conjunction with ENB, just rename the d3d9.dll that is in the above file to whatever you want, let's say sweetfxd3d9.dll. Then, replace the proxy settings in enbseries.ini to this:

[PROXY]
EnableProxyLibrary=1
InitProxyFunctions=1
ProxyLibrary=sweetfxd3d9.dll

For in-game presentation, I use this:
TNT Scoreboard

For custom music, use this:
NBA 2K Audio Editor
