File Names

Postby Smoove784439 on Tue Dec 17, 2013 2:19 pm

I checked in the rules section and don't see a rule against making a file with the same name as someone else's. However, HAWK23 didn't seem to happy to have a patch named the UBR in 2K13 (which is now the URB). So is it illegal to have a file name that is the same as someone else's?

This is the post I was talking about:

It's neither illegal nor against the rules, per se. I would say that it's bad form to take someone else's project name if it's particularly specific, as it can lead to confusion. If it's something fairly general like "LeBron James Face Update" then obviously, there's going to be overlap and duplicates. For a major project however, it's advisable to choose a more original name.

It was URB not UBR in 2k13.

Check the first few posts in the link I provided. It started as the UBR.
