My Player Account

Does anyone know how to retrieve the My Player account details? I bought a new hd and reinstalled my game on Steam but I can't get past the login screen becuase I forgot my account details. I assumed it was linked to my Steam account

I've been trying for 2 days now and can't get this game to work. It's through Steam. I've just re downloaded the game because I got a new ssd but when I put my account details in I can't get passed the title screen!!!

Has anybody else had this? I've contacted steam support and 2ksupport and still no response!!! If anyone can help it would be much appreciated

They can be a bit slow to get back to you on things like this. Unfortunately, they're the only ones that can do anything with accounts on their server, so all you can do is wait.

Yeah I know. The annoying thing is that I'm pretty sure my account details are correct but the game won't even let me in still. I can log in via NBA2k.com though but when I try in the game no luck. This is really frustrating because all I did was buy a new hd and re install the game. I should be able to do that without stupid issues like this

Absolutely. NBA 2K13 had the same issues, which caused a lot of frustration last year.

Had the same problem last year. Now I two copies of 2k13.
By the way support was crap and unable to help.j

Having recently reinstalled Windows on a new hard drive, I can vouch for that as well. Ended up picking up 2K13 off Steam during a 50% off sale. Others have had more success, however.

It's not right that you had to get another copy of the game just to play what you paid for in the 1st place. Even if it was 50% off

Also the thing I don't understand is that I did back up my old copy of the game including my saves folder which contains my user profile etc. Shouldn't that not cause the game to ask me for my account details again?

Because it's a clusterfuck by 2K, plain and simple.

Why is theres no stats in my 2K account..ive played number of online games..no VC as well...whats wrong

No one tried exporting the info in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\2K Sports\NBA 2K14 along with the Config.cfg in the profile?
I haven't but login info is stored in those two.

So anybody knows is this is still an issue with 2K14? I'm planning a format and don't want to lose the game (or wait for 2K support) or test ideas and fail.
Anyone successfully installed a second copy or reinstalled the game and was able to log into their accounts?

I haven't tried it (and am playing the Steam version this year anyway) but given that accounts and keys are handled the same way as last year, there are probably similar issues.
