How do you like the new controls?

Got a chance to test the game out with my friend. Got a good hour - hour and a half game action in. I gotta say, still not feeling the controls. I think not having a modifier makes it harder and more restricted. I feel like last year it was easier to do a more variety of moves, we had more control.

I know they can be changed but not feeling it.

I agree, so far it seems kind of awkward compared to 2k13. For pro stick/dribbling/shooting I don't like having to mash LT and RT in combination with the pro-stick, it's much simpler to use the X and B combos. In 2k14, when control settings are reverted to 2K13 controls you lose access to various moves since X and B no longer act as modifier, so it looks like it is sink or swim with the new pro stick.

Triple threat is for the most part unchanged.

Dunks are unchanged, layups are all executed differently with pro stick. I do like the change to the runner, which I think was very awkward to shoot in 2K13, but the threshold where the player will shoot a runner versus a stepback jumper seems to have been moved closer to the hoop so the shot isn't as effective.

The post game is simplified a bit, but it's not like it was difficult to control with 2k13 in the first case so the changes are rather irrelevant. There are no new post moves. The tutorial leaves out a few moves, but they are still in the game.

On defense I notice no real change to the controls. The ball is more live so defense feels different in that respect, but otherwise the controls feel very similar.

Rebounding is the same. It might just be me getting used to the game again, but players seem to jump awkwardly at times rather than reaching for the ball even if the ball is well within arms reach... Need a little bit more gameplay to figure this one out.
